When Abby and Chase celebrate their daughter's second birthday, they're surprised to find a mysterious gift on the table. Inside it lies a startling reminder. The ring Abby got when she was young, and a note from Kyle, the boy she feared. Having left the country years ago, she never expected to hear from him again, but somehow he's found her.
Chase had never heard of Abby's old boyfriend, not until the gift. Curious, he digs deeper into the mysterious person, only to find there's no trace of him. Could his records really have vanished so completely? Or is there more to this mystery than Abby is letting on? Careful of where his questions are leading him, Chase struggles against the doubts forming in his mind.
When Kyle suddenly shows up on their property, he's nothing like the person Abby remembered. Sleek and professional, he has a hugely successful business supplying hotels. Unsure of what to do, Abby and Chase agree to tour his warehouse. But his plans are meticulously set, and they're playing right into his hands.
If you have never read a book by this author, it is an excellent introduction to her writing style. The story is fast paced, with enough detailed character building to make this a stand-alone read (although it is part of a series). As the suspense built, I was white-knuckling my tablet! LOL At the conclusion of the book, all the threads of the plot were woven together to form a perfect HEA ending. I absolutely loved this latest addition to the Poppyridge Cove series!
I purchased all seven of this series but after reading this fourth one, I'm not sure I want to read the rest. Abby's husband is a psychologist and seems to analyze and not believe anything she says. He goes as far as considering admitting her to a Psych Ward instead of checking out what she tells him. I tell you halfway through this book I was screaming to myself, of course, for her to tell him to get lost. Then his mother goes against Abby and says a Bed and Breakfast is an unsafe place for her son and Abby to raise their daughter. Abby is abducted and barely makes it out with her life when her father saves her from the madman. Chase convinces Abby to turn the running of the B&B over to someone else and they buy a house on the lake across from his parents. She must really (have been written) to truly love this guy because I would never have left the B&B. I WOULD have left Chase. Especially since her Dad was hanging around to run the B&B. The things Chase puts Abby through in the book will have your ire up high time. Sorry I ruined the book for you.
Suspense and Mystery Keep You on Edge With This Story
The Inn at Poppyridge Cove has been a success as many people love to come and stay at the beautiful place with the perfect view of the lake. Abby and Chase are celebrating their daughter's second birthday, with family and friends. Everything is just perfect until one last package is opened with a thread ring and a note from someone in Abby's past. Abby had never spoken to Chase about Kyle the young man she had dated when she was fifteen. What had started out as innocent love turned into something that made Abby fearful as Kyle had become very possessive of her. Shortly after, Kyle and his family had moved to Mexico and she had breathed a sigh of relief. Now so many years later- this note stirs up her fears for not just herself but her sweet daughter Ava. Chase is very worried about Abby as she begins to manifest some fears, he tried to find out more about Kyle but there seems to be no record of him anywhere leaving Chase to wonder if Abby's troubled past is causing her to imagine something that never happened. When Abby begins to believe she is also seeing her father who she hasn't seen in many years, Chase's worries increase. This story had a lot of suspense in it and left you wondering if Abby was having emotional problems or if Chase was reading too much into her troubled past. I was a little upset when Chase began to second guess everything Abby was telling him.

Everything seems perfect as Abby and Chase prepare to celebrate their daughter's 2nd birthday with a large crowd of family and friends. Ava was excited with all the gifts. Then one more gift was discovered, a small box wrapped in pink sparkling gift wrap that no one at the party claimed to be the one they had given. In addition to a small plastic horse for Ava, there was an envelope inside with Abby’s maiden name on it. The envelope contained strings that had been a homemade ring that her first boyfriend Kyle had tied on her finger, and her nightmare had begun.
Abby had dated Kyle when she was fifteen and he had become very possessive of her, to the point of causing her fear. When he and his family moved away, she could finally breathe again. Now her fears turned to her daughter, Ava. Was she safe?
Abby had never told Chase about Kyle’s obsessive behavior, so Chase gets worried seeing Abby’s fear but not able to find anything about Kyle – as if he didn’t exist. As Abby thinks she sees her father, Chase wonders if she is delusional. By the time Kyle shows up on their property, the relief that he is “real” is short-lived as they are drawn into his carefully laid plans.
This story was excellent, filled with danger and suspense as Chase starts to doubt Abby and the danger closes in on both of them. The tension builds and the reader is pulled right into the excitement. Grab your copy and experience a well-written mystery thriller you won’t soon forget!
Thus far, I have read all of the books in this series, and I have enjoyed each one. There is no doubt in my mind that Ms. London is an excellent storyteller. I will say, however, that I had to suspend a certain amount of belief to properly enjoy this series. I mean, how often would it happen in real life that anyone would have a long lost relative that leaves you a few million dollars to be able to afford to buy and renovate a dream mansion like Poppyridge? Who wouldn’t love to live in such a place? I certainly would! But of course, that is what many of us read books for—as a pleasant escape from reality. There were a few reviewers that mentioned that this latest installment in the series could be read as a stand-alone, and it probably could. However, I believe that the series is much more enhanced by beginning at book one to get the background on how it all started. In my very humble opinion, It makes the ending of this book a lot less confusing if you have read the first book. Overall, this was a good read and a good series. Danger at Poppyridge Cove(Seaside Inn Cozy Mystery #4)— Author: Rimmy London/Narrator: Angelina Rocco ( chapters) July 28, 2024
Things are going well in Abby’s life, until a mystery package shows up on her daughter’s birthday from an ex boyfriend, freaking her out and fearing the past is coming back to haunt her.
Chase grows concerned with Abby’s behavior and digs deeper into her past, only to find her past seems to be erased.
This was a complicated, twisty story. Not my favorite story in the series, as I did get confused a couple of time with the characters and events, but otherwise a good plot, with an excellent narrator.
Wow, I was so frustrated with Chase (husband) for never believing Abby when she was clearly upset about something from her past. He immediately dismissed her feelings and then quickly thought she was making it up.
I must admit, I skipped ahead to get through the rest of the story. Even when she was proven right, his quick forgiveness was shocking.
Overall I rated this a 3. Depending on how irritated I am later on (did I mention his parents were also jerks?) I may change it to 2 stars.
The only reason I’m still considering reading the remaining books in the series is because they take a backseat to the future storylines.

I have read all 4 of the Poppyridge Cove series, and they held my interest. I like mysteries that are not too far out and this series was not.
Abby found an old mansion she wanted to make into an inn. Chase her friend thought she should not do it because a lot of strange things that had happened. He gave in and they married and began their life at the Inn.
Each book was about different things that had happened to them and others at the Inn. If you like mysteries this would be a good series for you
Once again another wonderful story that left me with a smile on my face and ready to read the next book in the series! Abby & Chase are celebrating a beautiful little one, but is it a happy time or has it somehow unlocked the past for one of them? Has someone started playing games on them? Is there a mystery man or two from Abby's past showing up or is it something more serious? These questions will be answered when you read the book along with the introduction to the adventurous Miss Ava! I hope you Enjoy reading this this just like did!
Chase and Abby’s daughter was celebrating her birthday. The last gift she opened was a reminder of Abby’s past. She had never told Chase about it.
Suspense filled book that builds till the end. This is a real page turner. I have liked all the books in this series by Rimmy London, but I think this one is my favorite.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A well written suspense story set in a delightful setting with the beach and forest. Abby has it all with her husband, Chase and beautiful daughter, Ava and delights in their life together. A present appears for Ava that sets Abby's fears reeling. The past is showing it's face. A suspenseful time ensues with Chase, a psychologist, wondering if Abby is having some sort of mental breakdown considering her traumatic childhood. An exciting read that I enjoyed very much. Thanks Rimmy London.
This book kept me reading until it was done. This is book 4 in the series but it can be read easily as a standalone. The characters are great and the book is suspenseful without being scary. I'm quite enamored of this setting in this series and I may just go back and read book 1 again.

In Danger at Poppyridge Cove the reader must decide if there is a real danger or if Abby's mind is causing her to imagine it. Ms. London is an expect at character development and these suspenseful plots. Although part of a series, the book does well as a stand alone. Real or imagined, Abby is terrified. I was intrigued from the start and did not sleep until I reached the end!
Secrets from the past come back to haunt and destroy lives if they are not adequately clarified. Not even little Ava can bring normality back to her parents´lives, untill the unexpected happens and everything falls into place. An entertaining and easy to read story!

I'm not thrilled with this one, I'm unimpressed with partners that don't believe in the other. That Abigail tells Chase what she is seeing and what is happening and he automatically thinks she has mental health issues and medicated her if very irresponsible.
Though still a suspenseful story, this wasn't as creepy as it was sad. The strength of Abby's character was missing. Still, the plot was good and I will definitely continue with the series.
This one had a but more intense topic, that of a stalker. Again, Chase shows some toxic traits that contribute to Abby feeling crazy and like she is loosing her mind. Low key presents some issues surrounding mental health and how we go about it.
I liked the previous ones but this one is a bit too exagerated. Like the car dealership disappearing, the whole business stuff being fake, the father wearing the same outfit 20 years later and watching her like that.

Is your mind playing tricks on you? Is what you see real. Is medication the answer? There are many twists and turns throughout this book. Worthy of your time.
loved how this storyline worked in mental illness and medication. It shows how people assume you are losing it and don't trust you. An excellent example, and well written storyline.
