April 2023 reread.
This was the last I read in this series and that was about 20 years ago. I remembered one plot point. I enjoyed this a little less than the first two books because the story takes place on a vacation, so the regular characters (Nikki’s grandparents and the Allen family) don’t appear and we have a new setting and several “one time only” characters.
That being said, it felt realistic to see Nikki grow and own her new faith, but not terribly realistic that she seems “over” with her feelings about the adoption.
