Though this is a book of testimonials, I am left with a volume of inspiration from these amazing believers. Like all of VOM's literature, this book is important for the growing believer in our comfortable American Christian culture.

Tom White, VOM director, begins the book by reflecting on his own interactions in Iran, which is currently undergoing an underground revolution against the traditional ayatollah fist.

From women and children to drug-addicted government loyalists, this book takes the reader through Christ's miraculous impact on this strict Islamic country.

In this quick read, not only did I turn the last page with a prayer on my lips for Iranian converts from Islam, I was similarly convicted to step out further in my American environment. What lengths the Iranian evangelists go to, to share the Lord!

If you want to read about Christians in action for their loving Savior, if you're seeking a renewed fervor for God's work, or if you want to prepare emotionally for a visit to Iran, read this book! This book is for you!

I highly recommend Iran: Desperate for God, by Voice of the Martyrs.

"An oppressive Islamic state drives its people into the arms of Christ"

The sub-title tells it all. The book tells the stories of eight Iranian Christians' journey to find Jesus.

It is surprising to me to read that devote Muslim women engage in the ritual of mourning the death of famous prophets, dead for hundreds of years. More than one of these ladies gave examples of their extreme devotion in praying, memorizing the Koran, and acts of religious service that kept them in a spiritual gloom and darkness.

The religious oppressive state of Iran has little joy to offer people with their Muslim religion and lifestyle according to the 8 witnesses.

Very informative about the Muslim culture and the Christian devotion of these brothers and sisters who found Christ

There are parts of this book that I don’t agree with, but it wasn’t enough to stop me from recommending this book to everyone. It’s a beautiful group of testimonies to the saving, transforming power of the Gospel. Both men and women share their stories of heartbreak, loneliness, and hopelessness giving way to the joy, love, and peace of a relationship with Christ. Their faith and courage is encouraging and humbling. May the Lord bless them all.

Another of VOM's publication that i loved. Thanks to Jeannie who shared it with me. All about how the IRanian Christians are really oppressed and in need of prayer and support. How blessed we are with our freedom here.

Not only is it an illuminating read about a closed country (most of its readers don’t know how to hide an opinion, let alone an entire group of house believers), but also it’s a good reminder that fervent faith really can accomplish more than privately held knowledge. They style is not meant to be overly theological or erudite - it’s simple and understandable. I do hope that Iran’s dark days are drawing to a close, and that we’ll meet some of these saints in days yet to come.

Very encouraging stories of Muslim Background Believers. These were not the outcasts and disgruntled, but they have found freedom in Christ. The grammar, as stated in the forward, is not perfect but reflects what each individual said as best possible.
