So far, this is my least favorite of the Carter High books, because it is the most repetitive and least complex. Ben K. Davis takes advantage of a case of mistaken identity when he receives Ben E. Davis's straight As, allowing him to run track. Ben doesn't tell anyone that he failed math, and is ineligible to participate, but he worries that if anyone finds out, his team will have to forfeit any meets he has run in.
