I'm shocked and impressed that by the time I was halfway through the book, the two main characters hadn't had sex even once. From prior experience with a handful of romance novels, it seemed like the main characters were having sex every other chapter and the plot was just a thin excuse for them to have sex; the romance came before the plot, making for a bad book. However, with this book, it was nice to see that the plot came first (for the most part - I mean, this is still a romance novel) and the romance followed.

This book was picked out by my friends, who were trying to find the worst book possible for our “book club.” So I didn’t expect much going into this.
Lydia is trying to shut down Mr. Complete, an escort service which she swears is actually prostitution. Luke, the owner of the business, tries to sneakily prove her otherwise. They both end up accidentally falling in love, though, and things get complicated.
I swear to god if I have to see the word gigolo one more time....
The writing was horrible. The characters were cheesy and cringey. The epilogue was the biggest Cringe Fest I’ve ever read in my life.
Do not read this. (Honestly I’m judging you if you were even planning to in the first place tho.. there are SO many better romance books out there.)
What a funny story. Ms. Smythe is an author that hasn’t disappointed me in any of her books. All are wonderful reads. They are funny, quirky and so very entertaining.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.
This is your lucky night. I just happen to be wearing black silk boxers."
That was exactly the kind of confirmation Lydia Carmichael was looking for. Proof positive that the drop-dead gorgeous date provided by Mr. Complete Escort Services was a gigolo. All she had to do was lure that bad boy into her bed and she'd put the slimeballs out of business.
But Lydia soon learned she wasn't cut out for this kind of under-the-covers work. Luke was not only Hot with a capital H, he was also a considerate, caring man. As she discovered there was a lot more beneath the surface than his sexy underwear, she found herself wanting to leave her tidy white-cotton life behind. If her secret wishes could come true, their bought-and-paid-for beginning would lead to a happily-ever-after end that had nothing to do with money and everything to do with love.
This was a fun, addictive read. It's one of those books where you find yourself reading a lot of pages without realising. I was curious as to what would happen next, and that made it really easy to keep going.
I liked the secondary characters more than the MCs, to be honest. There just wasn't enough about the main characters to get attached to them. I don't remember them being anything other than angry and sad throughout the book. Not that they were often angry or sad, they just didn't express any emotions most of the time.
The secondary characters did express their emotions in their actions, and it made perfect sense. They also behaved and spoke in distinctive ways, which kept them interesting.
Great plot, never gets boring, always leaving you wondering what will happen next. The perfect mix or sweet and SPICYYYY :) If you are into romance and slight smuttiness it is a must read.
