We all wonder what we could do and be if only… Perhaps, it’s something we feel drawn to try or a unfulfilled dream. What stops us? As much as we’d like to act, sometimes that nagging skeptic in our head adeptly derails us.
We all know that little voice- all too well. People will think you’re insane. You’ll look stupid. You don’t have the talent/confidence/money to follow through.

The author of Beyond Human wanted to explore her potential with energy work and intuitive healing. She felt drawn by it but her skeptic was strong. Knowing that she had to get around that nagging voice (and its ability to sabotage any positive results), she came up with what she calls Meta-Rules. Essentially, these are little statements that quiet the skeptic and allow our own natural abilities to do their thing.

Really, these Meta-Rules allow us to get out of our own way. They allow us to let go of control in a way that doesn’t seem so scary. In the process, we don’t feel the need to defend, explain, or question what may or may not happen. The process then becomes more of an experiment just to see what may or may not happen without being tied to the results.

Sometimes, books that combine consciousness practice and motivation tend to sound a bit "woo woo", for lack of a better term. However, this book presents concise methods to delve into awareness and applying it to daily life, without the smoke and mirrors. Jaden Phoenix's style is easygoing....as if you're having a cup of tea with her during conversation. Being a fan of awareness practice among other things, this book leaves the mystical mumbo-jumbo (that tends to turn some people off) on the backburner, and reminds readers you need not be some mystical guru to realize the power of your limitless self. This book is on my "to recommend" list!
