Book four of seven in the story of the first extra-solar colony of the planet Earth…
Kind of a hard book to find. It's only available in online stores and a few others. Fortunately I found a review on Amazon.com and bought it there. Despite it's comic book style cover art, it's quite a gritty novel. Alot of action from the very first page all the way to the epilogue. (In which there is a spoiler so don't skip to that part) Sort of a political Thriller mixed with Utopian Societal issues and high Tech. Very compelling story that keeps you turning the pages. Some of the chapters are kind of short but overall its about 430 pages so it's worth the change. I bought the paperback but its also on kindle now whcih I reccommend because the paperback is Big!
Not a bad read for those who like lots of action, cool gizmos, and over the top evil villains. Lots of historical parallels like forced occupation, facism, political conspiracy, etc. A large number of the more important characters are Chinese(Because in the book the planet Maxis was co-discovered by the Chinese) and their names get very hard to pronounce. There isn't much of a love interest for the main characters but maybe because they are all in their late thirties to forties. Overall it was good science fiction and it moved quick. The ending leaves plenty of questions for the sequel.
