Wonderful You

Rate this book
Acclaimed for writing charming love stories that linger long in the memory, bestselling and award-winning author Mariah Stewart “just keeps getting better and better” (Romantic Times). Now she enchants once again in this tender story of two lost souls who find love where they least expect it…

Twenty-eight, single, and struggling to keep her little shop of handicrafts afloat, Zoey Enright is pleasantly surprised when a knockout audition for a home-shopping network lands her an impressive job as an on-air saleswoman. Little does she know, Delaney O'Connor, the company's CEO, is bringing his only grandson and the hero of Zoey's childhood, Ben Pierce, home from Europe to run the network.

Ben's one true passion was Grand Prix racing -- until he laid eyes on Zoey again, all grown up and more beautiful than ever. But he also must face his haunted past and the near-fatal accident that brought his driving career to a screeching halt. Confronting painful emotions he crossed an ocean to forget, Ben must barter his old dreams for new ones if he and Zoey are to claim the wonderful future they are meant to share.

Nothing happens.

That said, it is an enjoyable, romantic HEA. I liked it. I cared about the characters and I wanted it to work.

However…

There is very little angst. Not much conflict. And a slow narrative.

It won't be to be everyone's taste.

Zoey Enright is the middle child of an acclaimed author. At 28+ single, she's tried many jobs, but none have clicked. Then she lands a t.v. job on a shopping channel and realizes she's found her niche. She also finds a wonderful home in Brady's Mill, PA near her work and mom. Ben Pierce lived with Zoey's family for several years until his Mom died of cancer. Then he went to live with his grandfather. He's now pursuing a European racing career. When the home shopping network goes up for sale his grandfather buys it because Zoey's on it. Ben's had a bad crash so he comes home to run it. They fall in love - again, but first they have to get through the discovery of her Mom's illegitimate baby - now 35ish and her brother Nick's wedding - ties in some loose ends from "Devlin's Light".

I am still playing catch up with some of Mariah's older books, so grabbed this one off of Mount To-Be-Read. Totally freaking enjoyed it!!! The pace was nice, there were locations that I recognized, and the characters were fun. I will have to unbury Moon Dance at my next opportunity....

Love Mariah's Heart-warming Stories

I always like her characters, their difficulties and the resolution with lots of family support. I'read most of the Chesapeake series, working through the Enrights and looking forward to the Hudsons!

I've read Mariah Stewart's FBI series, and loved them. This is the first of her romance books I've read. I loved this one as well.
It was just a fun, sweet, love story. Very light and easy reading.

Zoey finally lands her dream job, selling merchandise on the Home Market Place. She is a natural. Loves to talk, and has never met a stranger. She is even more thrilled to learn that her new boss is going to be her childhood friend Ben Pierce.

The last time Zoey saw Ben, it was after the death of his mother, seventeen years ago, and his grandfather was taking him away. Now he's back and Zoey is hoping he is as excited about seeing her as she is about seeing him.

Ben is recovering from what may be a career ending injury, when his grandfather requests his help back home in the states. He's just bought a new company, and needs help turning it around. He might also know that little Zoey Enright is working at the station he wants Ben to help run.

The last thing Ben wants is to go "home". He has put that part of his life into a tight little box and hidden it away. Too many painful memories. Memories of the kind woman and her family who took him and his mother in when they needed it the most. The people who were more than friends, more like family. A second mother and siblings. Now he is being forced to return. Wether he's ready or not.

After I finished this story, I found out it's the second book in the Enright Series. It can stand alone. But now I need to go back and read book one and find the third one as well, to complete the story.

This is one I consider a "comfort read." Every so often, I find myself thinking about Zoey and Ben and I pull it out to re-read their story of love and friendship. I love that Zoey finally finds a career she can feel passionate about and look forward to each day. I love watching her fumble in the kitchen on her cooking show. I love meeting Wally, right along with Zoey, and finding her house and making it a home just right for her. I love seeing her find her independence from her mother and in the process figuring out who she is and where she fits. At the same time, I enjoy watching Ben struggle with both his past and his future as he figures out his place and what he needs in his life. Wonderful You is a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good romance story.

The continuing story of the Enrights, Nick, Zoey, and Georgia, and their mother, Delia. This time it is Zoey's turn to find love with former friend, Ben Pierce. Ben once lived with the Enrights until his mother got sick and his grandfather came to take Ben and his mom to his home as Ben's mom was dying. The Enrights have not seen Ben in many years and it takes a racing car accident and a tricky grandfather to bring Ben back.
