Never Blend With The Wind

Rate this book
What happens when a man invites six of his closest friends over, for dinner, drinks, and mingling? Lots of fun, laughter, mature conversation, and oh yeah, a clash of ego’s. Overall, it started out as a beautiful night, until someone brought up the topic of relationships. A bunch of finger pointing never solved anything. But leave it up to the host to provide a proper resolution.
“Since the men in this room feel bad relationships are caused by women, and women feel they are caused by men, why don’t you put your money where your mouths are. Let’s give five thousand dollars to the one person that proves their point by sharing their biggest disappointment involving the opposite sex. The person with the most votes wins the pot. Is it a deal?”
They all agree to the terms, but the stories that come out of each of their mouths, you will not believe. Egos are put on the line. Opinions are tolerated but far from accepted in this humorously erotic, grown and sexy ‘Battle of The Sexes.’ Never Blend With The Wind, the second skilfully written masterpiece from new comer writer extraordinaire, “Mr. Michael T. Martin, offers the authors creative take on African American relationships based on true experiences, all while telling one hell of a story. Prepare to be entertained.

Friendships

Michael T. Martin’s “Never Blend with the Wind” is a story about Mike and a few of his friends who have never met each other. Mike is an author who has just gotten back from a book tour and wants to get together with a few friends that he has missed hanging out with. The guests are invited and the night is set.

Once all the guests are there and introduced, dinner is served. After dinner, a discussion is started and the real fun begins. The discussion brings on a five thousand dollar bet that each friend is sure they can win by telling their story. By the end of the night there can only be one winner. But is it really a win?

These characters are comical. They are developed and introduced in a manner so that the reader will not get them confused. They have distinct qualities that make each one very memorable. Some may even sound like people that you really know.

This is not a long book to read and can be finished in a few short hours, but it has so much to say in a short period of time. The ending is a real eye opening shocker! I’ve never read anything by this author but now I can’t wait to see what he does next!

The story of Michael an author who after coming home after a book tour comes home and decides to have a dinner party with some of his closest friends. Dinner is finished they play a board game them decide to see who has the best story as to why women/men ain't bout nothin with a $5000.00 pot for the best story. I found this story to be very engaging. I enjoyed it from beginning to end and each story was well developed. I never got the characters confused because they each had a different story to tell. I would highly recommend this author who is by the way new and upcoming. Stumbled upon his work through one of my book club sisters and I think there is a lot more greatness that is going to come from this author, he's one to watch. Great job Mr. Martin and thanks for the recommendation Kim!

I really enjoyed this novel, who would of thought you invite a couple of friend over for dinner and one discussion to another leads to a five thousand dollar bet about relationships, of course the men blame the women and the women blame the men. Well Mr, Mike the host of the party comes up with the ideal of who ever show the most disappointing facts wins the bet.The stories our hilarious you will not believe some of the stories that come out of each other mouths, the things people are willing to go through when trying to find that one person you may think is right for you. The last story left me speechless with tears in my eyes. I will defiantly watch for more titles from this author.

Okay short story. This short story took a while to finish, the initial premise sounded interesting. The actual execution was not, I ended up skimming quite a few passages.
