This is an excellent compact guide to have and use. I have owned a few different Busch offerings and find that in the Compact Field Guide he is able to condense the myriad options that are available on today's DSLR cameras down the practical and fundamental. And although this is not a full explanation of everything one needs to know for complete mastery of the D7000, which is available in his full Guide book, it is quite impressive in it's detail, nonetheless.
An example is the two chapters he devotes to covering each menu option available which, in itself, provides the really basic overview one needs to know to start getting the most out of this wonderful Nikon camera. I opted for the Kindle version for this one, as well as for my D5100, as I pretty much take my Kindle everywhere and having the information available when I need it was paramount.
Yes, there is the spiral bound version available that is slightly less expensive but I went this route knowing I will never have to worry about torn or ripped pages (which did happen to me one time when out in a monstrously windy day). Busch's explanations of settings and controls is both simple and fairly complete, which is not an easy task to master. He provides opinions on when to use, or not use, various functions all in the attempt to make anyone a better photographer. A recommended purchase for anyone wanting a guide that is easy to take with them in the field.
