І знову дві повістини в одній книжці. Цього разу вони мають майже-однакові назви: "Розшукується Ракета на чотирьох лапах" і "Загубилася Ракета на чотирьох лапах". Але ви в них навряд чи заплутаєтеся, бо одна з історія має фішку, нехарактерну для оповідок про Стрілку. Скоро дізнаєтеся, яку:)

А поки що історія намбер ван, яка починається з того, що у Стрілки добряче розгулявся апетит. Ні, вона завжди була охоча вхопити те, що погано лежить. Але тут вона видирає їжу в людей із пакетів, сумок, рук і майже з рота. Ну і паралельно влаштовує страшенний розгардіяш. Щоб поквитатися зі Стрілкою (а разом і розібратися з рештою містечкових псів), сержант Смаг і його начальник Бофінгтон-Ор запрошують до міста гицеля. Точніше, дебільнувату (у клінічному значенні цього слова) гицельку, яка, до всього, доводиться сестрою сержанту Смагу і поділяє його неприязнь до Стрілки.

Щоб не відлякати вас спойлерами, тільки скажу, що Тревор піде на все, щоб врятувати свою собаку. Навіть погодиться перевдягнутися на дівчинку:) А ви почитаєте, чи допомогло йому це)) А порятунок прийде з неочікуваної сторони - власне, технічно, Стрілка врятує себе сама. У дуже незвичний спосіб;)

Друга ж історія цікава тим, що розказана.... від імені Стрілки! Якось вона вирішила порятувати пиріжки у відчиненому фургончику, в процесі порятунку їх всіх, ясно що, зжерла, а от фургончик завіз її невідомо куди. І вона розповідатиме про всі ці пригоди, які їй довелося пережити, і як вона зуміла повернутися додому, та ще й не сама, а з котом, бабуїном і, на хвилиночку, гепардом на хвості!

Як завжди, фірмовий гумор Джеремі Стронґа не дасть нудьгувати:)

not read any of his other work and only reading this cause of niece but quite enjoyed it and the humor was kinda slap stick that appeals to this age grp i could I could imagine this as a cartoon and without any shockers few disasters followed by of course the happy ever after

Jeremy Strong has a particular way of setting up his stories which allows you to anticipate the ending from the first chapter. You can also anticipate a few attempts that are bound to fail, lots of slapstick humour and you have the entire story. If this were a book for older readers, I would complain about predictability, flatness etc. But since this is a book for children I think this writing strategy is quite useful especially if you take the time to teach your child to spot the clues and the plot structure. Also, the story is about dogs and who can resist a good dog story?

Part of a bigger series of stories about Trevor and his dog Streaker this humorous tale stands alone well and is sure to entertain developing readers aged 6 - 9. With short chapters, interesting illustrations and plenty of silly antics I can see this being very appealing to many of my pupils.

such a good, funny book. when i was little i coloured the black and white pictures in until one of the pages ripped and when i read it that makes it all the more amusing (since tims face is coulered in blue!)

This is a book that makes me laugh out loud and is very funny and amusing. It's a book that I never want to let go of because I want to read it all the time.
