Join world-renowned consciousness teacher and healer Richard Moss in an exploration of the power of presence in your life. Presence is associated with feelings of aliveness, connection, creativity, satisfaction, and flow. It is presence that frequently is the “difference that makes the difference” in your ability to enjoy life, heal emotional wounds, experience intimacy, and support the growth and transformation of others. This inspiring book presents powerful principles, tools, and practices for transforming self-limiting patterns of thought and behaviors and for staying in the present even in the midst of very difficult feelings. Drawing from individual counseling sessions and utilizing practical exercises, Dr. Moss demonstrates how awareness and presence can be applied to support change in yourself and others, thereby creating a solid bridge between knowing and doing. Inside-Out Healing will help you become more available and fully connected with yourself and others, build a solid foundation for healing in all areas of your life, be better able to handle difficult situations with more elegance and ease, improve both personal and professional relationships, expand your capacity for genuine empathy and compassion, and experience more richness, gratitude, and fulfillment in your life and relationships. Are you ready for a shift of consciousness that liberates your mind and heart? Whether you’re motivated by illness, relationship unhappiness, or the desire to excel and experience life to the fullest, this book holds the keys.
This will be in the handful of books that I consider life changing. Those are the books that gave me tools in which to recognize and alter my understanding of myself and deepen my practice of mindfully being present, in the moment, with myself and with others. This and the author’s book, The Mandala of Being have brought a noticeable shift to my emotional well being and I will be forever grateful. To get the most of this book, it would be helpful to have an understanding of mindfulness and the importance of presence and being wholly present In the present moment. I believe, having read the Mandala of Being first definitely contributed to understanding the concepts the author covered and with that as a foundation of his teachings, I found this book spoke directly to the issues that have been an ongoing block to self understanding and healing. It has also brought a new depth and joy to my meditation practice as I had unknowingly been suppressing the joy I would experience because of fear. For that understanding and shift alone, I would be forever grateful, but the teachings about ego have been absolute game changers in terms of recognizing how it’s impacting my life in ways that ultimately cause suffering. Absolutely would recommend to those who have an understanding and some practice of mindfulness and meditation.
I can see that this well-written book has an important message – the importance and healing power of being fully present in the moment, Dr. Moss also tells us about the ego’s agenda: it is the ego that won’t allow us to become fully present. It wants us to be special, either make ourselves less than we are, or superior to everyone else. Our continual thinking about what happened in the past, what will happen in the future, stories about ourselves and others, whatever, take us away from the Now. And it is when we are in the Now that energy flows and we can enjoy inner peace. It is absolutely vital to let go of our thoughts and stay in the Now.
That’s as far as I got. I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t get through this book. I found it unreadable, even though I fully recognize the validity of its message.
Perhaps I’ll be able to find another book by another author in a, for me, more readable style, so I can go more deeply into this theme and learn how in practice to become fully in the Now.
This is just my personal point of view. I can see from the other reviews that others love this book. Personally I can’t recommend it, and couldn’t finish it.
Presence will save our little selves and all of mankind.
If you are human you need to read this beautiful and powerful book because the present and future of mankind depends upon it. I am honored to know this man and study with him. He speaks from his own experience and explains our dilemmas in very clear and relatable ways. I have met several teachers all of whom have something to offer, but their large egos somehow destroy all the good they might impart to the student. This man wants none of the power trip so many teachers engage in. The book is both very practical and powerful. It is the closest thing to actually being in Richard's presence, his teachings and his unconditional love. I invite you read and share it.
