If you are responsible for bookkeeping for a non-profit corporation and choose QuickBooks, this is the only book available and it is five years out of date. Nevertheless, accounting practices don't change like technology does, so the book is still highly useful. Also, QuickBooks isn't really set up for non-profits (I speak of the "Pro" edition), and the author shows you how to do it right with all the workarounds. Essential.

Quickbooks is a terrible program, especially for non-profits, but it has a lot of inertia behind it. If you find yourself trapped in a situation where you are forced to use QB, check out this book for some help on using it as well as possible.

I wish I bought this book before loading our organization's data. Even though I am running Quickbooks 2016 Premium nonprofit edition, the 2011 (second edition) was a lifesaver. After getting this book, I had to do some rework from my earlier fumbling but I am so pleased now. It will be a great reference moving forward. I did not find any other book that offered the information I needed. The book was useful to me as a nonacountants who had accounting classes years ago. Using the Kindle version was another plus because I could quickly find the information I needed. phew...pleased with the results. Look forward to painless year-end reporting.

I echo Kirk's review. The one book I give to all my clients (nonprofits). Absolutely essential. I've checked out over 7 books covering nonprofit accounting using Quickbooks and this is by far the best. Sufficient structure and explanation for beginners as well as options/customizations that advanced users can appreciate.

Useful for non-profits, though as I was using it in a church situation I would have preferred some examples that fell into that realm.
