4.5 stars. I've had this book sitting on my shelf for years with the rest of my Harlequin books. I've read and loved books one and two in this series (especially book two) and I bought this one without realizing that it's book five. I decided to pick it up because I'm in the mood for some Harlequin romances and this one was fantastic and a great reminder of just how great Arthur is as a writer. I loved Deena and Max so much even when I wanted to smack Max and make him pull his head out of his ass. I understood completely why he was the way that he was but the pushing Deena away was PAINFUL. When they got it together though it was great. I thought they had wonderful chemistry and their HEA was hard earned but well deserved. I'm excited to go back and read all the other books in this series.

This was a very emotional Donovan story. I love the turn about with Max running proving men are not scared to show and act out when they are hurt.

I enjoyed it. At first I couldn't understand why Max had a problem with a commitment but as the story went on I understood. I also see why Deena had her issues because family don't realize how there action affect you. You start believing what they say to be true and that is not alway right. I also enjoyed when Max couldn't except the fact that he was in love with Deena and after not see or talking to her in awhile how he jump to conclushion that she was making a play for his brother. I total enjoyed Touh of Fate.

Awesome book

Because it's an awesome book I like that Maxwell stop letting the accident from the fight he had in college to protect a girl from being raped be the reason why he couldn't have a relationship the deena and I would recommend this book to all the women in my family

...than a love story. This story was about feeling and perception, finding oneself through maturity, adversity and love. Very enjoyable romance and demonstration in this series. Well ima hop on over to "Winter Kisses" (The Donovan Friends #3)

I was a little disappointed in the drama that came with this story. Deena seemed like a girl that should have had a little better experience in the realm of love. Max had me wanting to take a very big stick to him and beat him down real good. He needed some sense beat into him. It took a near fatal event to bring him to his senses but it was almost too late. You must read to see what I am mean. Deena and Max were able to rise to the challenge. With love most obstacles can be overcome.

This series just keeps getting better. As I read each book I can sense the increased development of this authors craft. Max is a man with a tortured soul because of something that happened in his past, while Deena is a free spirit. The ups and downs of their eventual HEA were a pleasure to read. As usual the author also added just enough information about other characters to wet our appetites for another book.

So much telling instead of showing!!

3.5 rating. Lots of misunderstanding in this one. I wish this author would spend more time showing us what was happening instead of just telling us in 3rd person. The storyline has kept me coming g back to this point. I was a little disappointed that the sterility issue didn't even come up until halfway through the book when it was a major plot line. I'm not sure how many more of these I'll read, but I do want to read Monica's story.

Whoa! I shed many tears reading this book. This is easily my favorite of the series. Although it started off a bit shaky, by the end I was sad for the book to end. Max was beautifully flawed, and although I wanted to wring his neck several times in the book, I understood his hesitance to begin a relationship. But thankfully, he and Deena were able to make it work. I will be recommending this one.

Best one yet

I feel like I teared up so many times reading this one. I love Deena and Max's love story. I felt so bad for Max because I just knew he wanted to love her but he couldn't. Love the way the story turned out in the end. These two are definitely my favorites with Noelle and Brock as a close second!

This was a very touching love story. Maxwell's secret was a true test of love and Deena passed the test. What would you sacrifice to be with the one you love?

Beautifully written love story.

I started reading one of AC Arthur's books and realized I was reading out of order. Her books are beautiful to read and enjoy.
