A restless warrior... A fierce maiden... A magical love story of sorcery and passion...
Orphaned as a child and raised by monks, Mychael ab Arawn had forsaken all things of the world—until fiery visions drew him into the victorious battle to reclaim his ancestral home. Yet peace still eludes him, for the visions of mystical dragons and mysterious caverns linger. Armed as a warrior once more, Mychael prepares for his quest—to seek out the images that haunt him and conquer them once and for all.
There are many who would stay Mychael, intent on using him for their own purposes. Only the beautiful Llynya, with her lavender scent and lightning-fast blade, joins him on his path. But Mychael may have little chance to taste the sensual power that draws him to the maiden. For soon his visions will lead them to a crossroads of destiny, where danger awaits in every cavern—and friends and ancient enemies of man threaten to destroy them.

OMG finally. Dream Stone ended up being such a slog and not as much fun as re-reading the previous book, The Chalice and the Blade. This is pretty much how the experience felt like:
The book is about 50% too long and the main characters are kinda boring, Naas and Madron's activities were much more interesting than anything Mychael and Llynya got up to and there were a million people contemplating war, preparing for war and the going off to war.. and the sex scenes, omg. The first sex scene between our lead couple was literally a chapter-long lead-up, culiminating in "they boned three times and everybody orgasmed simultaneously during the last one" AHAHAHAHA. What I *do* like about these books is the concept of the worm holes - I love the concept of the worm hole not only being related to the lair of dragons and wyrm but ACTUALLY BEING A TIME TRAVEL WORM HOLE, booyah! The time-travelling aspect was mentioned much more explicitly in this book, and we are already given hints about the future and certain characters..
I think I will put my re-read of the final book of the trilogy on hold for a while though.
Too many names and places all in Welsh. I was confused. I only read half of the first chapter. I loved Tolkien's world, but not this one. Tedious to slog through.
So this book is definitely more fantasy and less romance. I think those looking for a romance will be sadly disappointed. As for the fantasy portion... I'm torn with this book. I think the concept and the plot were really good. There are a lot of aspects of this book I love. The characters are kind of flat, but otherwise ok. The author tends to describe things in detail that don't really benefit the story. All of that would have been ok though, but the ending was so disappointing. Its pretty much just "and they defeated the bad thing, but we don't know how. Oh, and these other characters just went missing and we have no idea what happened to them. The end. It was a let down for sure. I word rather the author had left out some of the lore of the world and explained more of the ending.
The two main characters are enjoyable and fun to get to know but the heavy language and vast cast has you constantly referring back to the glossary and list of characters. Could have cut the cast in half and had a better book. The plot was too busy with many sidelines going on at once. It took me half way through the book to get into it.
I vividly remember this book cover. I have this book on my shelf and can even tell you where it is. However, I can not for the life of me remember this story that well. I just remember it was historical and love conquers all at the end with a HEA. It wasn't my type of book if I couldn't remember it except for the cover.
This was a great book! An original story set in an original fantasy world. I loved Mychael and Llynya, and the story was interesting, with just enough romance. I've read this multiple times and have enjoyed every read.
