That's why Mel's been looking forward to her pal Lola's surprise party for weeks. And she's not pleased when she and her friends get sent off to medieval times at the last minute. Then she stumbles on a scam that runs from the Middle Ages to the future. This is seriously dangerous stuff. Can Mel change something that hasn't happened yet?
Annie grew up as an only child in the English countryside during the 1950s. Her father was not always around but when he was, he would tell her fantastical stories, often with her as the principal character. Annie missed him and his stories, which led her to the fantasy section at her local library, thus sparking life-long love of fiction.
After undertaking jobs such as waitressing, cleaning and factory work, Annie went on to study at University of Warwick and soon started writing.
Annie lives in Norfolk. She has three children, Anna, Reuben, and Maria (the inspiration for the first “Angels Unlimited” book, “Winging It”) and two grandchildren, Sophie and Isabella.
I used to read this series when I was really young, and back then I really liked them. Even though these are still quite enjoyable, they just feel too young for me now. I'm still going to read the rest of the books at some point, just so I can say I eventually finished this series.
This book is satisfying from the POV that it gives us more background on a few key characters and answers a few questions, but the plot is pushed a little too quickly compared to some of the other books, and a lot is left up in the air.
Rereading books I used to enjoy for my little sister! This was okay, obviously I would prefer a longer book but generally good story and something a younger child would enjoy.
These 3 stars are enough to give to this book. It's very easygoing and when you finish reading, you don't think about it anymore. It's also a very quick read: I can't help feeling that angels are much more interesting characters and the author gives them a very small area (althrough they are the main characters)... The only thing I really love about the series is how Annie Dalton adds interesting historical events to the plot. But I'm a fan of extensive books, this is embarrassingly simple.
From the very beginning Brice was an intriguing character to me. I will say, I quite like the story and the plot of all of these books, but this one is certainly my favourite because it had so much of Brice it was the first book to actually tell us more about Brice, his background and why Brice is Brice. This book overall is quite fun and Mel is a Memorable character who's interesting and quirky.
I really enjoy this series! Especially this one, which had them travel back to the time of the Children's Crusade. However the futuristic plot with Dom and Brice is what stops me from giving this four stars.
