Actually, what I've been reading is the German original, "Paulus vor Damaskus." It is the work of my Doktorvater, one of his first publications, but amazingly astute and written in the same lucid style that makes all his work so easy to read and to translate. (I have translated most of his mature work into English -- 7 books to date, unless I've forgotten something) and one more to come. I am engaged at present in writing a feminist commentary on the Acts of the Apostles for the Wisdom Commentary series (from Liturgical Press), and this little book is invaluable. Its focus is form criticism, but its insights are far broader. The English translation is hard to come by these days; lucky me, I don't need it!
