Lady Blue Crew #1

End of the Line

Rate this book
[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Futuristic Sci-Fi Romance, M/M, shape-shifters]

Giovanni Gallardo is on the run. With only a knapsack in his hands, he boards a ship to get as far away from earth as he possibly can. When he arrives at End of the Line, things go south fast.

Remy Vystal is the commander of the Lady Blue. Kicked out of the Elite Force for something they didn't do, Remy and his crew travel the galaxy taking on missions to survive.

When a stowaway is discovered aboard, the fun has only just begun. Remy has found his mate in the little human, but Gigi is more than the crew is used to handling.

When they discover Gigi’s secret, the crew must fight to keep Gigi alive. Keeping Gigi safe from a replicator that’s possessed may be easier than keeping him safe from the one man who has called a bounty on all of their heads.

It's hard to adequately rate and review this one because there are some things I liked about the book and some things I didn't like.

For starters, I did enjoy the book to some extent. I found it highly amusing. Not because the characters are particularly funny but because the situations they put themselves in were funny, in and of themselves. There are, in fact, a few very funny scenes that had me laughing very hard but aside from that, the story is not very appealing.

I couldn't connect with either Gigi or Remy. This is mostly because Gigi seemed very immature and childish, constantly bouncing, clapping his hands and giggling. Remy, while I enjoyed his possessiveness, got on my nerves with his constant "Someone walked by you, I have to claim you now. Again." It grew tiring and made the story drag.

The plot of the story is a bit flat and unoriginal. While the idea of what the story revolves around is nice and interesting, the fact that nothing is elaborated on made my inner scifi geek disappointed. I would have liked details about this whole new world, the crews missions, about what Remy is, his race, his life, Gigi's life (beyond the fact he was a sex slave). In that the book lacked severe details. Even finally finding out what Gigi is was a disappointment because we only get a name for what he is, not for why he's so special or rare. On top of that, the conflicts felt flat and forced. The book could have ended a good fifty pages sooner and it would have made a fine story. Since it didn't, the problems that arose later with Gigi's master seemed unnecessary and ridiculous and made me roll my eyes. Then there was the sex, it was not hot at all and just made me end up skipping it.

With all that said, I loved the side characters. Pax, the little blue guy, was so adorable and I felt like he held the story together for me. I looked forward to reading scenes with him in it. The other crew members - Crank, Colt, Tank and Blade - were a hoot. I loved their banter and their sense of humor. It's very snarky and sarcastic which is my favorite type of humor.

In the end, I will say that this book frustrated me. It was hard for me to stick to and finish but only because I couldn't connect with the characters and the problems seemed over the top. The side characters were amazing, though, and I do hope they stay that way. But, I will say, that these books are kind of addicting. They are like cotton candy or chips. Once you have one bite you don't really want to stop. LOL.

A great start to a new series, this first book does a good job introducing the crew (and future main characters) as well as a lot of the background of how this 'world' works. Whether or not all of it is realistic was less important to me than whether it looked like an interesting place (it does), if the characters are cute and/or drool-worthy (they are) and if the storyline looks like there will be an overall background story spanning across the series as well as individual romances. After all, we're talking paranormal sci-fi, and how 'realistic' can that be? As long as it stays within the confines of its own rules, I'll be fine and ready to enjoy the rest of the series.

Gigi is a man in need of protection from a stronger mate, a fact that becomes immediately clear. He's survived the horrors of being sold into slavery, has even managed to escape, but needs help if the wants to get away from his former master on a permanent basis. His sense of humor and propensity to get into trouble had me laughing out loud several times.

Remy is a big, badass, ex-special forces guy (only hints about that situation so far) who is just the right man for Gigi. He may not have been looking for a mate, but once he sets eyes on Gigi, he becomes an animal - in the true sense of the word. Luckily, he has some brains to balance his overpowering testosterone levels, so he lets Gigi have a job and a life, rather than just locking him up in his cabin. His ability to step back and let Gigi be a partner was wonderful.

Together, these two are very hot! They also work well as a team in a crisis, even if the immediate need to 'reclaim' each other afterwards was a tad amusing. Since it made for some very hot sex scenes, I'm not going to complain! If you like shifter stories, sci-fi tales, or a combination of the two, and appreciate a hot alpha male taking care of his quirky mate, you will like this book. I did, and definitely look forward to the next one.

Um, well, er, this was either a one star read or a five star read. It was so bad, at times I was sure I was reading a spoof or a farce. But at other times, I didn't think so. It was supposed to be funny, I think, but I didn't laugh at those places. Instead I laughed at the sheer ridiculousness, so much so that at one point tears were streaming down my face and I couldn't breathe. I don't recommend this book at all.

The funniest part was when they turned a . It was so absurd I couldn't stand it. (The second funniest part was when the first part of that sentence happened.)

I'm on the fence as to whether I should read the next one. I'm curious to see if maybe it's funnier and more clearly a spoof or if it is funnier and makes more sense.

In short. If Gigi weren't a fife year old, it could have been nice. I kinda want to like Remy but I can't since he has sex with Gigi who clearly isn't an adult.

Mostly all the bad stuff pointed out below.

Gigi is a thief (calling it curiosity doesn't change the fact). You don't steel objects in a middle of a shooting.

This feels like some creep and a little child. Height over 7 feet and the other guy on the small side... Treated like a scared child by Remy too. Next he'll offer him candy.

Gigi the kid. Bouncing little guy. Getting over emotional about cows. Our Remy is a very very big perv in a very very bad way. - This all just from 20 pages in.

Kill me, now he is offering to get a pet for his child (Gigi). Only if he takes care of it of course. Remy isn't interested in men, he wants a kid.

Mentally adding some years and brains for Gigi so I can read further.

If only Gigi were a man. It might be entertaining.

From terrified to horny. Sure. So much for not using your ass any more. At least get a dinner before you get on your knees. Don't be cheap.

Slave who doesn't like to be treated as property doesn't care about being called mine. It would seem someone in Gigi's position would look at this in a bad way, misunderstand the meaning. I guess Gigi is a very smart child.

Sure why would anyone react when someone sinks their canines into you with no warning.

Gigi makes a complete 180 from the beginning. He looked afraid and timid and here he goes teasing and seducing some huge huge werecreature.

Jogging sex. That's a first. Still not one normal conversation. How Gigi got in his head he isn't a sex slave again? Since he acts like one. He's still just a piece of ass.

So relationship development - zero. We meat, we have sex, we run into some trouble. Plot told. Reading to see I'm not lying (read and checked, I' not a lair).

Some jerks try to kill you and makes a trap for you and you still pay them for the equipment. What world is this... Don't forget to say thanks for making the trap and all. When blow everything up. Make up your mind. It's like taking ice cream from ice cream truck by force, when paying for it and blowing up the ice cream truck.

Two lines and half of the evil plot is revealed. All villains take their time explain all their motives. That a considerate villains. Couldn't manage even a paragraph... Could this book be any easier. So far I doubt it.

Breaking electronic device results in squeaking, running and screaming "Remy". More childish would be only running to hide and pretend it wasn't you. And when "The replicator tried to eat me" - that's like a five year old telling that microwave exploded. Poor Gigi almost got eaten. This scene is completely obscene in how Gigi acts like a five year old who ran to get help from his father. When runs again since his father got eaten by an utensil...

What right does Gigi has to hire people on Remy's ship (did I miss a chapter or two or what). He himself doesn't have enough work and he hires others. And still were was like one little conversation about him being Remy's mate (that's all from all the book, nothing is talked over). Apparently dirty dishes from 5 men are too much to deal for one person. I wonder how he will pay him. Since he has the right to hire anyone in his kitchen.

Now our boy turns into a poor orphan (sold buy his family=left by his family), who is comforted like a 5 year old who wants his parents to love him.

With the crew of 7 men you can still manage to leave one behind without noticing. The one with the blue skin. And they are supposed to be ex soldiers or something. Seriously?

Huge universe and it seems that finding one little human is extremely easy. Twice even. Seems like universe is smaller than my town. That's so unbelievable. If there was some tracking device or something, but no. How were Gigi found?

How smart is it to make the guy who can manipulate fate hate you. Bad guy is a moron. His actions make no sense.

The "Lady Blue Crew" books are like crack for me. I know they are bad - but I am totally addicted. They are easy to read and fairly predictable. Typical Lynn Hagen/Stormy Glenn kinda stuff.

But since you are reading my review I will lay it out like this...
After 3 chapters I found myself thinking that I liked these books like I liked the "Brac Pack" series of books by Hagen. In fact, it was kinda like half of the Brac Pack (and their mates) got transported aboard a space ship. The characters and their dynamics were very similar.

Maverick = Remy (bad ass, scary alpha that is hard to resist and in charge of a bunch outlawed shifters
Cecil = Gigi (the alpha's trouble making mate who heads out on many mischievous adventures and ropes in the other mates to participate in his hair-brained schemes of stealing shuttles and making trouble in alien worlds)

Seriously, they are so much alike in ways it's almost funny. But I did enjoy reading them and I found myself hopelessly addicted to this series the way I was to the BP series. I loved Maverick Brac and his band of slutty shifters and I also loved Remington Vystal and his spaceship of slutty shifters!!

It's like crack I say and Siren Publishing is my dealer!

Ok... So we have Giovanni, called Gigi, who ran away from being a sex slave. He's scared of big men, ran because he doesn't want to be someone's property anymore and plans to find a job that doesn't require selling himself on the street. Then he accidentaly gets himself stuck on bord of a space ship where he meets Remy, the captain. And what does he do? Practicaly jumps his bones. It doesn't matter that Remy is partially shifted, big as hell alien, complete with claws and fangs. The fact that he stakes claim that Gigi is his, doesn't even bother the guy... So Gigi's plan to run away from his previous life ended after like two pages. Give me a break.

Shifter crew with each member a different animal species who are former members of an elite op that have been framed for a crime that they didn't commit. Naturally, they now run criminal operations for black market jobs at the ass end of space. It was cute enough but there was a couple of odd things that pulled me out of the story. The run-around-the-room sex, just not... normal. The other thing was Gigi had to have been low-jacked. Drake found him EVERYWHERE and no one asked how that was possible. So much for elite ops?

This had it's cute moments and as long as you don't allow yourself to get hung up, it can be an enjoyable quick and lite read.

I really liked the characters, but wasn't too crazy about the insta-mate/love plot (which, I know, I should expect from these authors) and didn't quite understand what type of shifters these were or the basic "rules" of what they were and how they acted. First story in a series, I understand, and this was still a fun read, and I liked the world building within it, so I'm looking forward to the next story.

3.5 stars. Not quite what I was expecting, but kind of fun. Stormy loves to create mates where the little guy is very cute and seems vaguely innocent and yet has some kind of special power paired with a huge alpha who is there to protect the small one from the universe and his strength disappears and becomes putty in the small guys hand. So even though this was set "in space" and involved interplanetary travel, it is really a formula plot in a unique setting.

I don't usually like Sci-fi stories but this one was actually pretty good. The characters weren't one dimensional, the storyline was good and there was a lot of humor (especially the replicator) to go with the suspense. Gigi and Remy made a nice couple that seemed to fit together. I am not sure if I will finish the series because it doesn't really fall into my typical tastes, but who knows, I liked it well enough to buy the second book.

Gigi is very childish, or maybe child like, except when he's acting like a sex slave. The jogging sex was not sexy, in my opinion, just tore me out of the story. The crew doesn't act like they were once elite military. Really, forgetting your newest crew member? COLT Not bothering to make sure his mate had made it on board? Suspend all disbelief, and it's fun enough.

This was a very interesting and enjoyable read. It takes place in space with the space ship landing from time to time on other planets. Remy was the commander who found his mate, Gigi. They worked together through many issues and they were also sizzling hot together. The secondary characters were all so fascinating and the story definitely held my attention. Fun and unique.

I loved loved loved this little tale, now don't get me wrong I knew exactly what I was getting because all of this authors work is a little similar but hey I like it. I have said this before and I will say it again now, these books are like little bits of chocolate, you know its bad for you but you just cant stop your self!! There are a couple of authors who are like this and I will happily buy anything they write. There is something special about this set of books and I would defy anyone not to be charmed by this story and the people in it. Yes I am bias and yes I am proud to be so but that doesn't take away from the fact this is a really sweet little story about really good people with interesting lives and there in lies the magic of this authors work. She manages to write about interesting people and you are drawn in and need to know more about them and yes I will and have bought more of this series.

Still feel the same after another read!!

Finally I found the time to write a review about this book (and the others of this series that I have already read) before I forget all about it. These kinda book are good to pass some time, but they don't leave the reader with much after they end.

All goes too fast and there is tons of sex, also in moments where our MCs all should have thought minus than getting it on.

Gigi was funny and I liked the guy, also if I couldn't understand how he was so carefree, or to better say how he could still enjoy sex sooooo much, after being held as a captive sex slave for years....He was abused/raped and kept prisoner, but when he finds Remy they don't talk about this, they just have sex and this felt really unrealistic...Idk....I'd have liked to see them talk more.

I liked the shifter/sci-fi side of the book, and I hope that in the next books we will see more world building and background to our chars stories.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Lady Blue Crew Series..
This Is about Gigi a human sex slave on the run from his master Drake.. He stumble's upon the Lady Blue and We then meet his Mate Remy a Wolf Shifter and Commander of the Lady Blue! He hires Gig to run the Kitchen on the Lady!
We also meet the rest of the guys, Colt a Hawk Shifter and Crank a cougar shifter. Tank and Blade also.. There is a bounty on the mens head because Gigi is on board...More to the story but you have to read it :)

On a day trip to another planet Gigi meets a Blue man called Pax who ends up being Colts mate, and Gigi hires him as help on the Lady.. lol

We eventually find out what Gigi is and why Drake wants Gigi back so much.

We then continue to meet Livewire who ends up working on the Lady Blue the story is easy fun and a giggle. I will be reading the rest of the series soon.

It was interesting to see a set of shifters that were a crew but were all different. The two MC's were good together. They complemented each other well. It was a good start for a series with the introduction to the world and a little at least on each character. I do think the two MC's getting together was quick considering Gigi had just seemed to rule it out and then...Bam! But I really enjoyed the read and didn't care if it was realistic or not. These kind of stories are feel-good reads for me:)

This book is hilarious. I don't think I'll ever forget the food replicator trying to eat Gigi. This is just a fun sci-fi with lots of action and hijinks. There is always something going on.

I love the entire crew and how new people were added throughout. The great thing is that you got to know each person a bit before someone else was introduced. I didn't have any problem remembering names or what each person did on the ship.

I honestly can't wait to read the next book in this series. I am crossing my fingers that it fits into one of my challenges.

I'm not sure abouts this series.

I have to agree with previous reviewer's opinion of Gigi and Remy.

I did enjoy the scifi aspect and secondary characters. I'll try the second book and see if my opinion changes.

BTW : I do not like adding another romantic couple so early in a book.(Pax And Colt)

It took me a while to start this books, the sci-fi on it was keeping far from it, but I was very surprise when I keep going and finally it is mix beetween the Brac Pack series, with Star-trek that I like a lot. Sex scenes are hot.

Totally typical Lynn Hagen and Stormy Glen with insta love, fated mated mates, alpha males and shifters - but this time in space!! Fun romp, lots of sex, mindless read for a lazy afternoon.

Didn't like the main pairing at all: Gigi with his constant giggling and special anus and Remy with his constant roaring and 10 inch cock and their insta-love.
What I liked were the other characters, Blake, Livewire and the others. For them I'll probably read more of the series.

I love Lynn Hagen's stories but was very hesitant about reading stories about other planets. Boy am I mad at waiting so long to read this story. It had all of my must haves in a story such as wolf shifter, loyal friends, love and hot SEX!

Cute little story, but I feel a bit let down since I see lots of potential. Add in some more transitions between scenes. A bit more sex to the love, and more explanations of the motives., and this could be spectacular.

I was shocked that a book with Stormy Glenn's name on it was not full of typos and plot inconsistencies. Must have been Lynn Hagen's contribution. Overall, this was a pretty well-written but typical alpha/sub mating story. Sex wasn't bad at all. I will try the next in the series.

Gigi is a rather naff name, it's a name parents use to refer to horses to their small children. I didn't like it.
I would have liked to have witnessed more of his "otherness".
But I fancied something sci-fi and it had lots of action which was rather pleasing.
