When news filtered through the media that Stuart Cable, the drummer with a larger-than-life personality and an even larger head of curly hair, had been unceremoniously sacked from one of the biggest rock bands in the UK by his best mates, the music world was stunned. Packed full of witty anecdotes, all told in Stuart's usual upbeat and humorous tone, this remarkable book will leave you gasping with disbelief. A frank autobiography, with no detail spared, this book is a must read for all Stereophonics and Killing for Company fans, and for all people who love a good old rags-to-riches story.
This is a brilliant read, Stu tells it like it is, he is so funny the book is very like his personality. He not only covers the Stereophonics history but also the personal history of himself kelly and Richard. It’s a great insight into their relationship and the breakdown of. It then gives you Stuart’s life after the band and how he coped with being sacked. He tells it all with good humour and feeling it’s a must read for fans of the band and Stuart RIP STUART CABLE always loved, never forgotten
Controversial, contradictory and very funny. It’s weird how you can miss someone you’ve never met but reading this made me do exactly that. Another person warning about the dark side of making it big in the music industry and why so many bands fall to pieces.
A fantistically funny, honest and interesting insight to the world of Rock and Roll!! Stuart Cable comes across as being a genuinely funny and frieindly guy who has stayed close to his Welsh roots, family and friends.
Read this book as both a friend of Stuart and fan of his work. Really informative read, funny and incredibly frank at times. A must read not just for fans of him and the Stereophonics, but for any aspiring musician. A fast paced tell all story from a man who left us too soon!!
