It’s good as a companion for the first 4 chapters of Capital Vol. 1, which are pretty dense though I do feel there is no substitute for reading them & make the rest of that text even easier to understand.
This seems to be an incomplete text & that becomes apparent in the last section of part 4 as they seem to be notes meant to be fully fleshed out later as was likely the case of intent for any would be notes on the remaining chapters of Capital.
This also goes well as a companion to “Wage-Labour & Capital” & “Value, Price & Profit”, the former being a condensed version of “Capital”, the latter being a speech turned pamphlet & thus being a condensed & tedious reading of “Theories of Surplus Value” which I believe has been considered “Capital Vol. 4”. All 3 of these texts can be read by & suffice for someone who doesn’t have time to read the larger texts of “Capital Vol. 1” or read all 3 volumes plus “Theories of Surplus Value”.
Overall a decent read if you’re pressed for time but if you want to really get a thorough understanding, definitely take the time to read “Capital Vol. 1” at the very least, if not all 3 volumes, & “Theories of Surplus Value”.
