I don't know why this short story doesn't have more top ratings. Its characters were well-written, and the plot was interesting.
Alex didn't lie exactly. She buzzed at the driveway gate, and they let her in, assuming her to be someone else without verifying her identity in any way.
(When Lucas was met with a similar situation, he laughed it off. “The man made an assumption, that's all, and it would have taken far too long to explain.”)
Alex's conscience pricks at her, though, and she's torn because she's really falling in love with Lucas and Mallory, and Lucas' mom is becoming a friend.
I really liked this story!
