John White examines the history and consequences of sexual sin, offers a biblical studyof human sexuality and what it means to be a man or woman in Christ, and describes how to minister to those needing forgiveness, healing, and hope.
While some of the book is not as relevant today as it was when it was written (e.g. addressing the Satanic panic and AIDS gripping fears in the early '90s), it is helpful to approach the topic of sex from a Christian point of view. Sexuality is a gift from God that should be honored and respected, not ignored or glossed over by Christians. This is how we combat sexual immorality inside and outside the Church. White covers a fair amount of topics, all of which one may not expect, and also details some of the issues he experienced from outside (and inside) forces to offer a personal, yet helpful, viewpoint for the subject.
Some chapters I skipped but I enjoyed his whole-person approach to sexual healing. People so often emphasize just stopping behavior but even if that's gospel-centered we need to be healed in more ways to experience freedom.
