The Films of Sean Connery

Rate this book
2001, revised and updated oversize paperback edition, Kensington / Citadel, NY. 301 pages. Sean Connery is a grand looking man whose work includes some truly wonderful films. He looks like a star and continues to make movies. Although the statement is arguable, he remains the best James Bond of all. Here is his work up to and including Finding Forrester, with all kinds of stills, shots, and more. The essays are lively and fans will have a ball with this title. A great looking man who continues to shine.

This almost complete filmography of Sean Connery is written by two gushing fan boys who display very little critical thinking. Connery's career spans decades. During that period, he has filmed some great movies and some real clunkers. That said, I've never seen him give a bad performance, but I have seen him in some less than stellar films. But according to the authors, all of his films were awesome.

This filmography lacks his last film, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which was made after this book was published. Also missing is Playing By Heart. It was summarily dismissed with a single sentence at the beginning of the entry for Finding Forrester.

I've read better filmographies on Connery's films. Find one of them to read instead of this one.

WARNING: The author has the annoying habit of telling you the ending of the movies. There is no reason why, for example, on the film of Agatha Christie's novel, Murder on the Orient Express that he need give away who done it! So although it wasn't a bad look back over Sean Connery's career, I advise you don't read about any of his movies that you havn't seen yet because he tells you not only about the making of the movie, but it's ENTIRE plot, including the endings!!! So now he's ruined several movies I havn't seen yet that I was planning to.
