I wrote a spoilery blog post on this. The short version: it’s classic Gothic fare, promises a lot but there’s no real passion or tension in the romance angle, the writer didn’t have a clue about Wales as a setting, but it gets points for an attempt at a twist ending, a showdown climax, and for being trope-tastic.
