A funky book from the 70s, and while billed as a 'novel of the occult' it is not. Basically, an extended family converges on an island off the Maine coast recently purchased by one of the brothers with the intent to make it a resort. As the novel unfolds, we are introduced to the characters and their dramas. Something is strange about the island, however, for nothing seems to go stale or even die. The mystery deepens as the novel continues to reach a somewhat epic ending. 2.5 stars.
A family gathers together on an island where one of the family members has bought a house. The secret of the island is that nothing there ever ages. There is a couple on the island who wants to make sure the family leaves and never finds out the secret. A lot of accidents occur before the family is finally convinced to leave.
This book was okay, but it wasn't very memorable. A couple weeks after I read it, I could really only remember the basic details of it. It was interesting at the time, though.
