Christmas Keepers: Eight Memorable Stories from the 40s and 50s

Rate this book
In 1952, Doubleday published a little book of Margaret Cousins' well-loved Christmas stories. Whimsical, warm and lively, they had originally appeared in Good Housekeeping, McCall's and other popular magazines. They are definitely "keepers," so we bring them to you again--a joyful assemblage of lovers, children, grandmothers, tycoons, and crooks who discover their better selves in a fascinating series of miracles, homemade and heaven-sent.

Collection of touching Christmas short stories set in the 1940's and 50's. I especially loved The White Kid Gloves, but all of them are tender and heart wrenching.

Decent collection of 40s Christmas stories, mostly sweet but with a smidge of backbone in some of them.
