Imagine finding your soulmate and 6 months into your happily ever your world is turned upside down. Then imagine being in the prime of your life as a successful business owner without a care in the world and unexpected tragedy rocks you to the core. Well this was exactly what happened to Summer and Truth. Both deep in the throws of grief and not sure how to dig themselves out their paths crossed after ending up at the same grief counseling session. The deep sorrow was written all over them and what started out as a friendship to help each other navigate the rough stages of grief turned into something deeper that neither was prepared for. This was such a heartbreaking and heartwarming story. The support system that these two had was everything and I like how the author wrote their story’s from the perspective of one pushing their support system away while the other welcomed theirs. This was a slow burning road to HEA and definitely teaches the importance of living each day as your last and also not taking one single moment for granted!

True to Life
This was a front seat view into grief, how different people handled grief and live through it. This story truly gave me chills, it was authentic and beautiful. Truth and Summer grieved, loved, and supported each other. The change in their budding relationship, was a nice surprise to me. It adding another realistic element to a relationship.

An Unusually Sweet Story
When this story began, I was unsure if I could deal with the subject matter. I could feel Summer's sadness deeply. And then to have a guy named Truth suffer the same level of anguish was another point of strife. I was happy when they made it past the grief and could return to life with a purpose. A perfect love story. 4.75 stars...

The editing and proofreading of this book were very good. The storyline was good but too rushed IMO. It did not seem realistic that you would fall for someone else in 3 months after losing your "soulmate" that you almost killed yourself over b/c you couldn't handle his death. Trauma bonding seems to be a theme in books I'm reading lately, but I am not a huge fan because the timelines seem rushed. Summer and Truth could be more believable to me if they had built their friendship over at least a year before turning romantic.

Always hits home
Mya never disappoints when she writes her books touching on mental abuse grief or losing a loved one. I have been there. I found love and lost it then found love again. Sometimes it's so hard to move on. But you have to go on with your life and in this book is exactly what she did. I'm not a cryer but I felt the pain that Summer and Truth. But I love the story. Love conquers all and I highly recommend this book to whoever is going through grief suicide or need help with their mental health because it will help.

This is more of a 3.75 than a 3.
Mya wrote the hell out of the emotional depth of this story and leaned into grief, despair, and depression. She showcases how people process grief differently and how triggers can appear out of the most mundane items. Watching our two main characters navigate life without their loved ones was realistic in a way that I was not expecting.
However there were a few scenes that annoyed me and I could not suspend my belief of how instalove works. Part of the problem could be that the couple didn't meet until after 50%.
All in all, I enjoyed reading this.

Emotional!!!
Man...this book had me in my feelings from the beginning of this book. Summer and Truth both went through the death of someone they loved and both of them went off the rails. The author wrote this book with such deep feeling that you felt such deep emotions for Summer and Truth. I was glad they were able to find each other and help each other work through their grief. Beautifully written story that you won't be able to put down.

A Great Eye Opener
This was such a great book. It gave you raw details about what grief and not properly taking care of your mental health can do to you. Thai book made you open your heart and soul out to the characters, and made you really think about how important having a great mental health is for you as well as your family and friends. I would recommend this book a thousand times.

The feelings….
This love story is truly so full of love! Mya really managed to encapsulate the emotions of loss so strongly . I wept so much relating to Summer and Truth’s journey managing loss. I loved reading the two of them evolve and learn to navigate learning to live and love again. Well Done!!

LOVED IT
This book really touched me I pray I never feel Summer’s pain but I know Truth’s pain all to well. The pain and grief of losing your mother is something that will break the strongest person. I am really happy they got their hea.

Wow this was so emotional and well written I love everything about this story. Absolutely no one can tell you how to grieve and how long they can only offer your love a son support sumner was blessed to experience her soulmate twice I’m happy she approached Truth and read him. Grief is the worst
I loved this book. It was exactly what I needed. The main characters are well written. Mya’s style of writing is comforting and felt like a warm hug. I don’t give details in my reviews. Read it so you can fall in love with Truth & Summer like I did.

Mya this was a very emotional but beautiful and spiritual journey reading this book. I’m glad you wrote about the different stages of grief and how we all handle grief differently. This book touched so many areas of my life as a widower and the lost of my mom. I could relate to Truth and Summer’s pain. There is always a rainbow after every storm. This book was deep. Grief impacts people in different ways. Truth & Summer saved each other. In such a short time, we met the happy couple at 3 different phases of their lives. The grief phase will really make you reflect. Definitely a must read.

I know this was a slow burn 🔥 but it was TOTALLY worth it!!!!! I love how they both took their time mending their broken hearts before rushing into a physical sexual relationship. She saw he needed a friend and he saved her life in return…UGH just good stuff 😍

A tear jerker for sure, but a good read
I’m torn over the rating on this one. While it was a really good read, the ending seemed rushed and the author didn’t seem to flesh the story out as much as she did in the beginning. I loved both Truth and Summer’s characters and was happy they were both able to overcome their grief.

Grab the tissue.
This was a book about grief and love. Summer and Truth was meant to be, the way they came to know each other was not the best at all. I was concerned about Cordell family was going feel but everything worked out. Great read.

Queen Mya honey I'm so glad I finally took the time to read "Summer's Solice". This book had me in tears, laughing, in love, etc.
My heart went out to Summer & Truth. Two people who didn't know each other from Adam but, both going through the loss of a loved one. Her losing her husband Cornell so soon after getting married was just heartbreaking😢💔. Him losing his mom, the one person he felt lived him without conditions, his biggest supporter, heartbreaking😢💔. This story hit home cause I've experienced both of their losses, and 10 since my best friend/soulmate and 7 since losing my dad and I still feel the pain in my heart, my soul still yearns for them.
Truth & Summer were what something that neither of them knew they needed. They were each others solice, best friend, and gave each other a love like no other. I loved Truth, even during his phuck boy grieving stage, lol. He was authentically himself when he was around Summer. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey from friends to to forever love.

Wonderful Story
Loved this story
It was sad and heartbreaking because it dealt with unexpected death of loved ones and the aftermath of them being gone and how hard it was to move forward without them
w
But Mya brought us through to the other side with the love of family and friends and to Summer’s solace, peace and ultimate chance of second love with Truth to show us that while grief does come it does not have to stay forever and happiness can return and we can move on and find peace again
This was a great book and well written and I highly recommend it

He was in so much pain self medicated because his mom was cheerleader and support so it was hard on him and his family had his back as well .
