Do you know what's worse than A movie based on a book ? a book based on a movie. At least in the first case you know that something is going to change ( which is bad ) but common !!!
Yes it was a quick ( enjoyable for those who did not watch the movie) read, I'll give it that.

New York Minute is about how two sisters; Jane and Roxy, skip school to go on their own adventures. Jane unlike Roxy skipped school because she wanted to go to New York to give a speech in which she was hoping that it would get her into Oxford University, because it was her dream to go there and win the scholarship with her speech. While on the other hand, Roxy skipped school because she wanted to go to New York to achieve her dream of becoming a star. My favorite part of the book was when both Jane and Roxy were chased around by random people they had never met before, it was pretty funny to me, because I have never heard of anything like this. Overall, I really enjoyed this book because it had a mix of adventure and comedy in it, and it was really fun to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about a good chase.

"New York Minute" tells the stoy of two sisters that can't be more different. Jane is an 4.0 student with a goal to go to Oxford and Roxy is a rebel who ditches school and wants to make it big with her band. "New York Minute" revolves around an important day in the life of Jane as she attempts to get a scholorship, but it won't be easy with Roxy in tow, who is trying to get into the Simple Plan video shoot. When things start going wrong and Jane loses her day planner the girls go on a wild goosechase in search for it, only to find out there is a mircochip envolved and some very dangerous criminals. But,the day can't not end without some love interest of two very attractive boys, a senator's son and Jane's mysterious man who keeps bumping into her. And how can I almost forget the girls are also being chased by a truant officer who is determined to capture Roxy.

The Plot was quite interesting, but since I have already seen the movie multiple times it was very predictable. It almost felt like the book was written after the movie was taken. I felt like the plot had a alot of potential that wasn't being used.

The character's were actually very enjoyable. I loved the interaction of Jane and Roxy throughout the book as they learn that it is okay to be different from one another as they slowly accept one another throughout the novel. Jane was a little stuck up at times, I felt she constantly thought that she was better than Roxy. I felt that she felt that Roxy pretty much owed her for being alive. Roxy, on the other hand was such an easy going character. I totally fell in love with her personalty. She was very fun and outgoing. Roxy's goal was to have fun and enjoy life, which for a change was nice to see a freesprited character. Bennie, which was part of the criminal operation, I felt wasn't as bad as he was trying to make himself be. I thought that he was actually a good guy but, being adopted by criminalmastermind mom had something do with Bennie constantly trying to seek her approval. I thought he was prefectly portrayed and I almost wanted to know some background on him. The Roxy's love interest I think outshinned Jane's, just because you get to know a little bit more about him and witness a twist the story when you find out who's son he really is and everything just falls into place. One of my favorite characters in this book was Mr. McGill, I liked that he was almost the most important character to the plot and the girl's kept bumping into him and causing him all sorts of mischief.

Overall, this was a good and easy read. My con about the book is that the plot had so much more potential that was never used and that this book was written for a younger audience. I almost wish they made another novel but more depth and evolved the plot to make it a criminal/mystery because there is just so many little detail that I see being added to make this book into a Ya or even an adult fiction.

New York Minute, by Eliza Willard. I loved this book because it was really full of adventure! Jane is on her way to New York City to give a speech because it might give her a scholarship to a college. Her sister Roxy also has to go to New York for her band. She offers to go along, but it goes way wrong! They encountered many problems and eventually even had to escape from a kidnapping! You'll have to read the book to find out what happens next! I would recommend this book to people that really love to read, because every time you read it, you find something new!

I was a huge fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and was on an endeavour to collect all their movies and books.

I originally watched the movie NEW YORK MINUTE and when I found out there were books too, I had to buy them!

I don't even get why this book was called New York Minute! It had almost nothing to do with the movie and the movies was a lot better. I thought this would've reflected the movie, but it was just a prequel.

It's the best of the Mary-kate and Ashley books I remember reading as a kid. Of course that's a little like saying out of all the dollar store cheese I found in the back of the fridge this was the least moldy.

But I've rated it three stars because I did really like this one back in the day. I think the plot was actually not half bad, a fun story about two sisters reconnecting. It's hardly fine literature but not every book can be Let The Right One In. And honestly, its target audience wouldn't appreciate it if it were; I know little bitty thirteen year old me sure wouldn't have known the difference all those years ago.

It's serviceable for what it is.

Jane and Roxy skip school to go on their own adventures - Jane plans to give a speech to earn a scholarship to Oxford University and Roxy hopes to get noticed whilst a band is filming for a music video. Everything can and will go wrong. The girls have the worst bad luck ever but some how everything works out in the end.

Dude, I didn’t expect the tear-jerking ending even though I’ve seen the movie. Picked this up for the Simple Plan cameo(weird they didn’t use Pierre’s real name) but ending up loving the chance to read this adaptation!

One star for nostalgia only. They should have let Mary-Kate and Ashley write the books themselves
