One of my faves, Spiggot dreams of being a fairy knight, but boggarts are lowly folk whose skill is in their use of hammer against anvil, not sword against shield. Resigned to a life in the forge, Spiggot's father Gnomon asks him to deliver brand new fairy armour to the king, Spiggot begins a quest that will change his life forever. Boggarts, swords, princesses, evil wizards, a quest through Faeryland and a talking water rat. What's not to like?
I liked this book, it was creative and a quick read that I didn't want to put down until I'd finished. Definitely interested in reading the rest of the trilogy and more books by this author.
