If Women Ran the World, Sh*t Would Get Done: Celebrating All the Wonderful, Amazing, Stupendous, Inspiring, Buttkicking Things Women Do

Rate this book
Packed with little-known sheroes and empowering journaling prompts, this book and interactive journal is a must-have for those who believe the world would be a better place with women in charge. Feel inspired and empowered by historical women. The importance of women is written throughout history, in big ways and small. From women in science to women in sports to the women in leadership positions paving the way for change, the stories of these sheroes are sources of hope and direction for girls, young and old, everywhere. By turning to their example, we too can be change-makers and champions of women empowerment. With the help of their “butt-kicking inspiration,” we can see our own potential and find the motivation we need to get up and accomplish our goals. Dream about the kind of world you'd run. Author Shelly Rachanow shares the many ways in which women do for others, from their families to their friends to the wider world ( the list goes on and on). She then asks readers to consider how much woman power has shaped the world, and turns the question to what are our buttkicking ideas for changing the world around us? These empowering journal prompts ask us to look inward, at our own role as women, and decide how we will make the world a better place for our children and those who come after us. By writing down our own ambitions, and looking to the example of iconic female leaders, we take a step towards making our dreams a reality. Dive into this interactive journal and learn more If you enjoyed books like Badass Affirmations , Bad Girls Throughout History , The Book of Gusty Women , or Made Out of Stars , then you’ll love If Women Ran the World, Sh*t Would Get Done .

One of those books you read that illicits spontaneous cries of "YES!", before you can stop yourself. Funny, too.

This is an easy to read book that inspired you to follow and maybe even figure out what you want in life if there were no restrictions for women. I think I would have liked more questions that were not repeats. But other than that it’s a great read.

I LOVE the title and often show bring it along to Ladies Who Launch events, just for the sake of the title. Everyone always nods their head when I read it out!

I love the concept and shock value of the title, but the content is a bit light.

There is one particularly good section on Georgia O-Keefe, the world renowned painter talking about how she almost didn't continue painting because she didn't feel she'd ever be a master. She was judging herself compared to others and her style wasn't in vogue at the time. Turns out her work changed what was in vogue! She was a prolific painter and became one of the very first artists to influence style in Europe rather than the other way round, which had been the norm.

There are also great stories of women who began various organizations that have had global impact.

A quick, easy read.

A kind of "self-help" book that assists women in focusing on their personal goals and learning to put themselves FIRST for a change! So often we women do everything for others--work, clean house, care for the kids, balance the checkbook, make appointments for the kids, drive the kids to the appointments, etc. But where is the "me" time? Where is the time spent on our dreams and desires (all of them--not just the sexual ones)? This little book is a beginning. And check out the resources the author noted in the book!

Don't let the title fool you. This is not some hateful diatribe against men. For Shelly, the book is really a positive celebration of the accomplishments of women. In the book, Shelly offers real-life stories, lists of amazing things women do, inspirations, What-if questions, and an interactive section that galvanizes readers to reach for more by writing their own visions for the world. For women and men alike, I highly recommend this inspiring author's work.

This book is part comedy, part inspiration. for those of us who never stop and ask what about me? at the end of a long day working for someone else. There are spots to add your own goals if you like, I just chose to read it cover to cover and it really does make you wonder why we don't squeeze ourselves into our own lives once in a while!

Empowering women without bashing men--very well done. Very short easy read. The book is actually meant to be used as a personal workbook/journal for the reader to recognize how "butt-kicking" great she is.

I'm going to "route" this through my workplace, and encourage my female colleagues to pass it along to other butt-kicking women they know in our building! This was a fun read, with some websites worth looking into, as well. Rock on, ladies!!

Not sure what I expected ... I suppose this could be uplifting, although I found it repetitive.
