Marc Allen admits he’s lazy. Not only that, but he considers it a key to his success. Here, he shows how anyone who is disorganized, inexperienced, overwhelmed, financially challenged, or just flat-out lazy can still create the life of their dreams. In the book’s short, inspiring introduction, Allen describes the system he devised on his 30th birthday that completely changed his life — a four-step system so simple to understand and easy to implement that it could be called revolutionary. In the following chapters, he details the importance of each of the four steps — dream, imagine, believe, create — and shows how to forge them into a blueprint for success. A final section includes tips for staying on — or getting back on — course. A quick, breezy read, the book uses centered bold type scattered throughout to ensure that even the laziest readers can grasp its essence in just a few minutes.
I am absolute type Z person. I have discovered some wonderful ways to transform my dreams to reality. I came to know about Marc Allen through a documentary in bbc. I recommend everyone to read this as many times as possible, because it is a proof that you can achieve all the success and have all the money you need without falling prey to rat race culture.
I am a Type Z personality all day, every day and finally I have finished reading this book. My mum bought it for me as a joke on my birthday a few years ago and I remember barely getting through the first few pages. I started reading it again because I was really bummed about how my life was looking. Was not disappointed! Even Type Zs can have a successful life and I aim to do it in a relaxed way. It lifted my spirits in a moment when I feel really down and I believe that if I follow those basic advises he gives throughout the book I'll succeed. It just takes a little faith and right now, that's all I have.
I read this great little book in about a week. I very much enjoyed everything contained within. I will definitely keep it around to read often. This is a book to read when you need to remind yourself that good is what we're supposed to receive, and yes, there is a way to make it happen!
Utterly useless garbage. The entire book was just the same old happy-clappy horses**t we've all wasted our time reading before - "write down your plans/envision your future success/think positive thoughts/affirm, affirm, affirm". That's it. Really? As if most of us hadn't ALREADY been doing those things for years. Newsflash: It doesn't help you succeed.
I expected this kind of rehashed pep-talk crap at the beginning of the book. But I kept reading in the hopes that it would eventually get to something specific, something strategically useful. But nope, it never did. All the way to the end, the author just kept coming up with new and more obnoxious ways to keep repeating this same tired old cliche nonsense over and over again. Infuriating!
The only person who will achieve "wealth and fulfillment" from Marc Allen's books is... Marc Allen. Like all the similar self-help charlatans before him, he preys on the gullibility of the desperate for his own enrichment alone. Don't waste your time and money on this book. Fortunately, i didn't. I found it in a free library. And rather than return it to that free library so some other poor sucker wastes their time with it, I've torn it up and thrown it in the trash where it belongs.
The book was quite an eye-opener for me :) and i had not expected to come across a book which talks about "lazy approach to success". Almost all the success mantras or principles or habits that we read or listen to has "Type A" personality at the core but this book tries to break that myth (and succeeds too) by citing personal stories and examples. The book talks about how being a Type-Z a.k.a "lazy" has nothing to do with success and one could be successful by going about life in an easy, relaxed way. The book is worth a read as it is a good mix of real-life examples, success affirmations and belief-change strategies. The "4-simple steps" approach provide a framework for implementing the "lazy approach". In the book, the readers would get plenty of insight into how rest, relaxation and recreation play an important role in preparing us for success.
This book came at a perfect time for me. It was inspiring to learn you can be lazy and still achieve success. I would call this book a simple/modern version of think and grow rich. For such a short book, it contains a lot of hidden gems such as relaxing throughout the day, taking time off (he takes Mondays off) and the ideal scene I was also a massive fan of those small summaries throughout the book. I wish other authors would do something similar. However, this book was not perfect. I would’ve preferred if the author didn’t include the chapter on relationships. This chapter felt out of place.
I've followed Marc Allen, taken a course with him, and read his other books. This says much of the same thing succinctly. The advice is not new but his calming, centered presence is a wonderful antidote to the hustle/grind 10x advice that's being blasted loudly from every corner of youtube, tiktok and instagram.
It's a quick read - and it's not for lazy people but for those who want to succeed in all areas of life while still enjoying it. Life is for the living after all.
Alguna idea interesante aunque ningina especialmente interesante. Tenemos que luchar por nuestros objetivos de una forma fácil relajada, saludable y positiva. Así los alcanzaremos todos.
The content has a very strong self-help tone and it is rather simplistic, but I still learn quite a bit from this book, just like I always learn from all books that I've read no matter how cheesy they are. There is hardly anything new in the content but to me it serves as a reminder. As my BJJ instructor puts it, he knows that we already know what he's telling us, but he questions whether we are already doing it. Remembering this makes one able to learn from any book one reads. Oh and I like how peaceful and chill and happy about life the author seems to be.
Very simple. Good introductory content on vision and goal setting, but overall limited in detail and depth. Additionally, the author seems to be all about the power of positive thinking ala the secret and Think and Grow Rich. ie, just ask for a million dollars and you will get it.
This was a easy read and gave my life a motivational boost. Here are a few key points that were reinforced when I read this book. To live your life with a sense of ease and lightness in your heart. The way to achieve this is an inside job. It is all in our mind. Set goals and set up a clear plan to achieve them. Learn from others mistakes.
