A fairly informative read on how to tend your garden (which I unfortunately do not have) to attract certain avian species during specific months, coupled with very charming hand-drawn illustrations of said birds.

I personally do not know how big of a role geographic differences play for somewhat neighboring countries, nor do I have access to trends measuring the occurence of birds in the UK; however, reading about birds I typically do not encounter in the vicinity that could seemingly have simply appeared in your garden over 30 years ago does make me yearn for a world where urbanization and deforestation rates are kept low.

A couple of things I did not expect to learn in this guide were:
- an extensive guide on building a garden pond;
- detailed blueprint-like images for various bird boxes;
- a breakdown of important berry and tree species preferred by birds
