A fairly informative read on how to tend your garden (which I unfortunately do not have) to attract certain avian species during specific months, coupled with very charming hand-drawn illustrations of said birds.
I personally do not know how big of a role geographic differences play for somewhat neighboring countries, nor do I have access to trends measuring the occurence of birds in the UK; however, reading about birds I typically do not encounter in the vicinity that could seemingly have simply appeared in your garden over 30 years ago does make me yearn for a world where urbanization and deforestation rates are kept low.
