Abide: Keeping Vigil with the Word of God

In the Gospel of John Jesus directs us, Abide in me, as I abide in you. This book is an invitation to make the Word of God your home through the practice of lectio divina. Macrina Wiederkehr, OSB, encourages you to turn the words of Scripture over in your heart as a plough turns over the soil to welcome the seed.

In these scriptural meditations, the piercing reflective questions and personal prayers lead the reader into a deeper relationship with the Divine. Macrina Wiederkehr is an author and spiritual guide and a Benedictine monastic of St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She travels throughout the US and Canada as a retreat director. In her retreats seekers are guided through experiences of silence, contemplation, and faith sharing.

So so beautiful. As seen in her other work, Wiederkehr has this spectacular gift to articulate her experiences with God that is somehow both richly poetic and radically authentic. She knows God in such a deep and precious way, it has prompted me to consider the Benedictine monastic life!! Cannot recommend this enough! Reads like a devotional.
