Bitten by the writing bug at the age of ten, Pen is an avid reader in addition to being a prolific writer. A native Georgian she lived in Hollywood, California for a year and a half (pursuing Film Studies – an interesting distraction) and six weeks in Asheville, NC (attempting to get herself together).

Influenced by the world around her, Pen writes whatever comes into her fuzzy little red head (currently Vidal Sassoon Merlot Vibrant Red). She writes in no specific genre as she has a variety of interests and passions about which to write.

In addition to reading and writing, Pen loves movies and music, particularly the music of the 80s and prior. Again, her passions for movies and music are as eclectic as her writing and reading.

Not a huge fan of television she is, nonetheless, currently an avid follower of ABC’s Once Upon A Time television series. So much so, that this series inspired her to write the Sword of Tilk Trilogy and influenced the writing of Nero’s Fiddle, though it is hardly recognizable in any of those tomes.

Pen enjoys reading the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Agatha Christie, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Rollins’ Sigma Force series, Lindsay Buroker, Kathryn Harvey and Judy Mercer (may she rest in peace). A host of other authors grace her bookshelves, too numerous to mention. She has been known to reread books numerous times.

Pen currently resides in the Atlanta, Georgia area where she is staff to two felines.

I received this in a Goodreads Giveaway.

This book will appeal to those readers that love the characters and story line in anything they read. 9.5B has an interesting story line with twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. There are some very clever aspects of the story. A professor asked to create a hypothetical scenario that will shrink the worlds population. A World Government run by an egomaniac that has a grand plan to grab all the money and get rid of anyone he cannot control.

So... why I did not care for this book. I love the written word. My brain auto corrects issues and gives me a headache when I have to do this too often. I found this book very frustrating. In desperate need of an editor. Many words are used incorrectly, my feeling is; If you don't know what a word means, don't use it. It reads as though the characters exist in a vacuum. There is no central character or characters until 3/4 way through then it speaks of others entering but no indication of those people. There are references to facts from the past, however the facts are incorrect. Such as a reference to Star Wars being released in 1979... uh.. it was really 1977. Other references to photographs and vintage cars, but somehow all knowledge of the past just vanished. One character didn't know what paper is however at the end of the book she says, "Oh yeah I was kidding." It was like a joke taken too far and just pisses everyone off. There is no indication of passage of time. No description of the world outside. In dialog between characters you can't tell who is speaking. Names of various things in this new world are so goofy they add to the complete lack of believe-ability. Not to mention poor sentence structure and weird sentences with random words placed in them. Several words with dashes in them that don't belong there.

Could be a good book if an editor had a chance at it.
