The world thinks Shanice Gibson is dead. She may never get a chance to tell them otherwise.
Being unarmed, alone, and badly injured is nothing new for Shanice Gibson. She's been in this position before, but never while battling her inner demons. In a desperate race against time, Shanice finds herself imprisoned by a small-town local who has no idea with whom he is dealing, and no idea how dangerous she is. That was his mistake and, where Gibson is concerned, one mistake is all you get.
Immediately following the events of A Money, Power, and Sex novella, comes this fast-paced, action packed thriller you won't soon forget!
Book 2 of @norianlove Love Season novellas (1 per week) .....Though Gibson appears in book 1 - Marcus, this novella takes us with her as she awakens in an unfamiliar place in bondage (trust me read Marcus 1st it's a quick read and it will be clearer lol) We meet feisty, determined & military strong Gibson as she awakens in an unfamiliar place then proceeds to have flashbacks to her childhood. A brilliant way to share her childhood "coming to America" story from the island of Nevis. I loved the way the author mixed in the past with the present giving us insight to her youthful infatuation with Marcus and the reasons for her military career choice. I especially loved the authentic hints of West Indian culture that shine thru in Gibson's adapting to the US, making friends and realization that the "wonderful" life her aunt described in the US was not in fact the life her aunt actually lived - not everyone does this but there are a few pretenders lol Gibson is tough, determined and scared of no one nor anything. She's a true survivor and this is a great intro to who she is. There has to be more of her to come and I cannot wait! C'mon Norian hurry up with the next one...Book 3 of the Love Season book 'V" Soucouyant has GOT to be about Gibson and I'm here for it! This suspense is driving me nuts - I'm a binge kinda reader! lolol BTW Soucouyant is sitting in cue in my inbox...Just have some editing to do before I can begin ...woohoo! As always, ENJOY reading diverse novels from every culture - the world is ours to explore! I read all types of authors' work so I'll definitely highlight a bit of everything and feel free to inbox or tag me here or anywhere to recommend any book or author you think I'll enjoy! @imajinconsulting
Listen, this short is used exceptionally as a strong plot builder. It’s transcending the boundaries of genre within a series.
Shanice has proven herself to be exceptional. It’s something that can’t ever be forgotten or misunderstood. In this particular moment in her life, she comes to terms with a few things in a very short span of time. She’s exiting her old life with truths that could rock the very foundation of the falsities that they rely upon.
Gibson tackles her current dilemma while giving her personal history. Her relationship with Marcus runs deep, but she is forced to decide between choosing herself, or saving a friend. This is your introduction to the enigma, formally known as Shanice.
Gibson's short story is broken down in the settings of High School years. We are introduced to young Marcus and given an insight to how she initially fell in love with him. This is a short and sweet story. I was wrapped up in the innocence of her teen hood as well as the naivete of her assuming expressing herself was unimportant. This short did a great job of explaining the bond between Marcus and Gibson and her devotion to him.
