Noah isn't just my boss's obscenely hot brother, he's one of the most famous pro footballers in the country. I've never been so attracted to anyone in my whole life. Too bad I asked him out the first time we met and he turned me down flat. It's not like I can blame him, Noah's a living legend, while I'm just trying to work in his brother's store and fix up my grandmother's abandoned cottage. I'm no one, and he can't even walk down the street without getting asked for an autograph. Our lives are worlds apart. So why can't I shake this feeling that he might just regret telling me no? End Game is a short, age-gap, grumpy sunshine, instalove sports romance about Noah, a retired professional football player who is struggling to overcome a crippling injury, and Bea, who is struggling to find her place in the world after a tumultuous childhood. HEA and lots of spice guaranteed!
Cleo White's affinity for all things dramatic and hopelessly romantic began the day she was born, which happened to be in the middle of a record-breaking snowstorm on Valentine’s Day. Her love of literature came soon after, and she spent the better part of her childhood with both a book and a notebook full of unfinished stories in hand. Later in life, she found a love of writing spicy books with complicated characters and dysfunctional family drama. Cleo currently lives in Vermont with her husband and two daughters. When not writing, she can be found hiking, gardening, painting, and consuming excessive quantities of caffeine.
"I love him. It's an uncomfortable realization, one I'm not quite ready for, but I feel the truth of it right to my core. I love Noah Greer. The man, not the football player. My friend, not the celebrity. I just don't know if he'll let me."
This was a sweet romance novella. It features a 15 year age gap, a little sprinkle of spice, and the grumpy/sunshine trope! I enjoyed reading it, but it was boring it a few places and I unconsciously skimmed.
SAFETY: Age: 21h, 36H Cheating: None! OM/OW drama: slight OW, Noah's ex. Virgin/celibate/manwhore: virgin heroine, celibate hero Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, age gap Triggers: Cheating (not between MC's) HEA?: yes!
This one was cute. I didn't love it as much as I did 'Out of Sight', by this author- just because I felt like a lot was glossed over in this, as it was a lot shorter. It was just a show not tell situation. So many scenes were skipped over, so their chemistry/ connection didn't seem as strong to me.
But all in all, this was a quick, fun read that I enjoyed.
This could’ve been great, but it felt like all the best bits had been missed or rushed over. There was a promising initial meet, then a scene with some witty banter, then it jumped forward weeks and they had apparently been hanging out together regularly and he wasn’t grumpy any more. It totally stole the best bit and I didn’t get to enjoy it. Ah well.
3 stars. An instalove novella that was enjoyable and easy to read, but not very memorable. I think I would have liked this more if it had been longer (it’s only 86 pages) or more OTT (I think it tried to fit too much into the 86 pages).
I absolutely loved Bea and Noah. You can't help but love Bea. She has a heart of gold.
We met Bea initially at her late grandmothers cottage. Her grandmother left it to her in her will, yet her mother doesn't think it's worth the updates. Bea, however, believes it's worth it and moves to the town and starts a new job in a new town. She truly loves it there and is quickly promoted to Assistant Mananager. Whilst working, she meets Noah, who has just retired as a famous pro footballer due to an injury. He came to his hometown to get away from the drama someone in his life has caused him and just to spend more time with his brother and family.
Bea and Noah's first interaction didn't go as planned, and Bea felt rejected by Noah's cold demeanour.
However, Noah couldn't be more wrong about Bea and tries to make it right....
I loved this story. Bea, as I have mentioned, had a heart of gold, and I really enjoyed her personality. Noah, though initially grumpy, was actually really amazing as a person, and his previous experience had caused him to react in such a way that I got but wasn't necessary when it came to Bea. It was beautiful to see a change in Noah, especially where Bea was concerned. Their chemistry was amazing. I loved the little spicy scenes, too, always a bonus to read those ❤️❤️❤️
Quick and easy read that I think you'll really enjoy 🥰🥰🥰

Be aware once you start you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned, it can be read in under an hour or less so get comfortable. Noah sexy as all get out pro-football player with baggage and wants to be left alone pretty much so when the cutie asks him out of course he turns her down. Bea is sassy, takes a chance since she has never felt this strong of an attraction to anyone, on her boss’s brother, and is turned down immediately although it bothers her, she moves on why he would ever see her she is a nobody. Both walk away from the other with the feeling he made a huge mistake by not even taking a chance but fate has other ideas for the two of them but they each have issues can they put them aside to get to know each other, will it lead anywhere , has he found the one that doesn’t see his status, and can they find some form of happiness?.

Bea, like many others, was attracted to Noah, a well-known football player. But she was willing to step up and ask Noah, her boss’ brother, to go out on a date with her. In a reflex reaction, he turns her down and she moves on. Does he regret his response? They both have their issues, but she understands how things must be for him and she likes him for the “right” reasons, not because of his public status. Will they get a second chance to maybe give it a try? Can they find the HEA that was waiting for them?
Safe. No om drama. H’s ex shows up near the end. The H sends the h away to talk to her but it’s not mentioned what they talked about. The H had a girlfriend before moving back to his hometown. I’m fine with mentions of past relationships but I don’t want to know about their sex life. H mentions it when thinking about his ex before she turned selfish. h is a virgin. H is hot and cold for a bit in the beginning and he’s a little rude to the h when he thinks she’s a gold digger. No abuse or cheating.
Noah and Beau will warm your heart in this touching story. He is a pro footballer and the brother of her boss. When Beau asked him out, he turned her down. They both have baggage that gets in the way of relationships. Will they be able to put their past aside to take a chance on each other and happiness? This engaging story drew me in and had me in their corners.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a short romance that features age gap, opposite personalities, mistrust and determination. Bea wants Noah for who he is not what he is. He has baggage that he's having a hard time getting rid of. I thought that the story could have flowed better. I think a short story should take advantage of every page, so I mixed feelings about a couple of areas. It wasn't a bad story, just maybe not for me. 3.5
This is the first work I've read by the author, and frankly, I had a hard time finishing it. It starts out as a small town romance, with an age difference between the main characters. Everything is quite boring, like a Sunday afternoon TV movie...and suddenly, almost at the end of the novel, all that clean romance turns into a "spicy" scene in a hospital?! I didn't like it at all, sorry.
i think this is the first novella that i wished was a full length book because it was so good! like, amazing. i really wish there was more to the story and to have got more elaboration on the plot.
it's still really good, but i just wish it was a full length book because it had so much to it that i would've devoured even more as a full length book.
