It's Vegas, baby! Anything can happen. Reed has a (small) chance to win fame and fortune, thanks to his "entourage," Beth. Sick of feeling like a loser, Harper's betting she can win back her life, starting with Miranda -- whose birthday wish just might come true.... Adam's also getting lucky, with a certain ex-girlfriend. Kane, as usual, is playing hard -- and not very nice. Win or lose, it's going to be wild.

Oburluk ile ne alakası var bilmiyorum ama en azından bir şeyler açığa çıktı sevindim. Kitabı okurken kitap kısa olmasına rağmen bazı yerler bana çok uzun geldi, neyse bir dahaki son kitap.
All I have to say is... this book is heartbreaking.
Actually, there is a lot more to say!
It just seems as if everything is about to turn good, for the better, it all gets thrown out of whack. There is always this LITTLE tiny thing that ruins everyone! It's becoming obvious now Harper is actually a really good person. It's just that all these stupid sins wrecked her whole life up. All her mistakes- she tries to learn from them and make everything better, but everytime she does, something or someone ruins it.
I'd say... Adam is the biggest issue here. He just does not REALISE Harper is weaker than she looks. He always has to go to Beth because she looks weaker. If only he saw deeper and actually knew Harper as he claims, he would of ran to her. And if he did... then Reed would of ran to Beth and everything would of turned better. Everyone would move from the past and fix whatever they can. But NO. *sigh* It's all so irritating.
I really like how I used to hate Harper at the beginning of the series. I thought she was all evil and such. The first book, Lust, only provided one side of her. But now on the 6th book, I totally see her, beneathe all of the layers of her mistakes and sins. You could see everyone now, since all these layers are lifted. And now my heart is spiked with pain because of all the things that went wrong when it was just SO close to being all right.
This book would be the BEST out of the whole series... then again I haven't read Greed yet!
I really enjoyed reading the book “Gluttony”. This book is about a group of teenagers and the struggles they face in their life. Most of these struggles consists of teenage drama. In this story, the kids all decide to take a vacation for a week and go to Las Vegas. A lot unfolds and a big secret is revealed. What happens in Vegas definitely does not stay in Vegas in this scenario. The secret that Beth was the unintentional cause of Kaia’s death was revealed to everyone. Beth kept the secret that she drugged Harper before she got behind the wheel. Her reason for this was to get revenge for all the pain Harper has put Beth through. Reed is not talking to Beth because of what she did and that the one he loved before Beth is dead. Adam is trying to be there for Beth understanding the pain she is in but is jeopardizing his relationship with Harper again. Kane and Miranda have agreed to try being in a relationship. Kane is looking as it as a sort of experiment but Miranda thinks it is a dream come true.
The characters in this story are six teenagers. Harper is strong-willed and beautiful. She is feeling lost without Adam and her hatred for Beth has hit its max. Adam is good-looking and kind hearted. Beth is a sensitive, good girl. Losing her relationship with Reed and everyone knowing her big secret is taking a toll on her. Kane is still a flirty, handsome, confident guy. His usual ways are changing as he begins to have feelings for Miranda. Miranda is still her old self. She is awkward and uses her sarcasm to cover up for her flaws. Reed is the ruggedly handsome band boy. He is easygoing and sweet.
The setting of this story takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Throughout the whole story, the kids are in their hotel room and hitting up all the parties they can find. This story takes place in present day fiction. The story is told from the perspective of each of the teens.
The theme of this story is gluttony. Overindulging or overdoing what you wanted in the first place is exactly what happens in this story.
I would recommend this book to any high school girls and adults. This book keeps the reader guessing throughout the whole story so the next event is not predictable. I enjoyed the fact that the reader receives the opinion and point of view of each character.
Break ups, hook ups, and fuck ups. This book literally has it all. Robin Wasserman had me worried when she killed off Kaia and used the last book as a device to show everyone's suffering. However, although this novel is very slim, it goes deeper then average YA Novel. At one point in everyone's life, we must experience grief. The loss of a loved one is never easy to cope with. However, these 6 individuals have to learn to live with the grief, and guilt, of all playing a hand in the death of one of their own. Expertly, Ms. Wasserman dabbles into the psychological depths of these individuals. We see the soft side of the bad boy, the complete broken down good girl, and that Adam is the wiener we all expected him to be since book 1. Instead of having everyone hold hands and cry and everything miraculously be all right, each character decides to attempt to cope with their grief and utter loss differently and often destructively. All in all, I'm stuck between giving this book 4 or 5 stars, I've flip-flopped about 3 times while typing this. If you are a fan of the series, this book is one of the better. It has a lot of twists especially in the relationship department for the characters. I found Adam to be utterly irritating as he continued to be a loser and make stupid decisions. But again, it's his way of dealing...by escaping and not facing reality. So thank you Ms. Wasserman for making me actually sit and sort through my thoughts at the end of this novel instead of just moving on to the next. I really am eager to begin the final installment of this series.
this book was better than the last but still not as good as wrath i think. We see a little more character development. Beth turns to drugs to cope with her guilt and reed for those drugs and more. Adam and harper still cant find a middle ground. and sin city offers a surprise for miranda. kane does some growing up but i still dont like him. By the end of this book im back to not knowing who i want to see together. Other than the end though this book isnt quite as action filled as the others. And my biggest problem with this one is that unlike the others it doesnt seem to pick up where the others left off. All of a sudden everyone is in vegas with no real reason why and no clue as to how much time has lapsed between books which is disconcerting and annoying. Curious to see how the series ends and whether the disgusting mr powell shows back up
I ADORE Kane. I absolutely cannot STAND Harper. And Adam is currently shining in this whole new light.
I was wondering how Robin would top Wrath, and believed it could only go downhill from there, especially as Kaia was gone. But nope, proved wrong. This book was huge. And I'm going to be so sad once I've finished Greed :(
Looking back, I can't believe how far each character has come. They've all grown, evolved, changed, shifted... and honestly, these books deserve way more recognition than they're currently receiving. Why aren't they more popular??
This book was probably one of the better ones in the series. Even though I'm still a little upset that Kaia had to die, and that most of the novel is set around Beth, but I learn to deal and I still think the novels are great. I love the relationship between Kane and Miranda, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next one. Near the end was when the novel really started getting good and exciting, and it definitely left me wanting more.
Personal response: I really enjoyed Gluttony by Robin Wasserman a lot. It was very interesting and more dramatic to me. The evolution of plot and character development really intrigued me. I wish that Robin Wasserman could’ve done more of a character development with Adam. It could’ve made the book more interesting to read.
Plot: Reed has a chance to win fame and fortune in Las Vegas, thanks to Beth. If it weren't fore Beth, his band would never have seized an opportunity like this one. On another note, Beth has never been into drugs but being with Reed she is. Beth will do anything to fit in now it seems. Harper is practically a loser thanks to her car accident and is sick of how she is. Harper decides to win back her best friend, Miranda. Thankfully, it just so happens that it’s Miranda’s birthday when they go to Vegas. Thanks to Kane; Miranda, Harper, Adam, and himself all have to share a hotel room. That idea doesn’t sit well with Harper because she can’t stand being around Adam at all. Miranda is hoping to get lucky in Vegas and have a certain birthday wish finally come true. That is of course to win Kane over. When Reed and his band arrive in Vegas they go to enter the battle of the bands contest. When registering for it Reed meets a girl named Star. Beth notices the connection they have and feels a little guilty that she can’t be better for Reed. Meanwhile, Harper and Adam have to drop Miranda off at a spa for her birthday planned by Kane. Miranda is very thankful but she doesn’t do spas very well. Harper and Adam are supposed to try to be getting tickets for Miranda’s favorite band that is playing in the hotel they’re staying in. Adam is really enjoying this alone time with Harper because he hopes to get her to be friends again. Harper is still annoyed with Adam for trying to get her to be friends when she doesn't wanna be friends. Harper can’t stand the thought of only getting to be friends with someone she loves. Eventually, Miranda gets out of the spa and finds Kane. Kane sets Miranda up with his dealer only to find out, he wants to be with Miranda more. Kane’s jealousy causes him to follow Miranda to make sure she is safe. Kane eventually gets his friend away from her by getting cops involved. Miranda is very confused by Kane’s actions and doesn’t understand why Kane did what he did. At midnight, it’s official. Miranda got her final birthday wish. She’s having all the luck in the world it seems. Harper on the other hand doesn’t, same for Beth. Harper makes a deal with Adam to meet him on the rooftop of a building at midnight to prove he really cares about Harper. On his way to meet her he runs into Beth. Beth had just taken a pill from Kane’s dealer and it makes her go crazy. She is freaking out and Adam being the guy he is, comforts her. Adam forgets all about Harper and takes Beth back to his hotel room. Eventually Harper gets sick of waiting and finds Adam in the room with Beth in his arms. After Harper freaks out, Beth finally tells the truth about Harper’s accident. Eventually Adam gets Beth to fall asleep in his arms in his room. That wasn’t such a great idea thanks to Harper. Harper brought Reed back to the room and showed him she wasn’t lying about the car accident being Beth’s fault. Reed is mad at Beth for not telling the truth and doesn’t want anything to do with her anymore. Beth doesn’t know what to do. She’s completely lost and now feels dependant on Adam. Eventually Beth finds herself on the rooftop standing over the edge because she has no hope for herself. Harper finds her and in a way is talking Beth out of jumping. Either way, Beth wasn’t going to jump. She couldn’t bring herself to doing it. Adam gets up to the roof and when Harper pulls Beth over, Beth goes right into Adam’s arms. Everyone is getting things that they want, or so it seems.
Characterization: Harper Grace: Harper is just glad to be out of Grace for vacation and now has her best friend Miranda back. All is going great until Adam keeps standing her up and she finds him with Beth in the hotel room.
Miranda Stevens: Miranda is starting her birthday with her best friend Harper, in Vegas. Only to be left and abandoned by Harper. Kane sets Miranda up with a drug dealer only to realize that it was a very bad idea.
Kane Geary: Kane's life is going every way but bad. Kane is over what he did to Beth and over Kaia’s prominent death. Kane is just thinking about Vegas and, of course, girls. Except one girl is finally crossing his mind after making a little mistake of setting her up on a date.
Adam Morgan: Adam has nothing left to lose. Adam does have his best friend, not Harper, but Kane back. Adam is trying his hardest to get Harper to be at least friends with him but she won’t stand it. It’s either Harper or Beth, not both. Does Adam make a fatal mistake by helping Beth, or is it just his personality doing what he does best?
Beth Manning: Beth is now crumbled to pieces after getting her “revenge” on Harper, Adam, Kane, and Kaia. She’s a “killer” and doesn’t know how to live with the guilt. Beth is now with Reed and hooked on pot, even though it’s definitely not her vibe. Everything seems to be going fine until she is given a drug that makes her freak about what she did.
Setting: Gluttony takes place in modern day times and starts in Las Vegas, California. Las, Vega is the main setting of Gluttony but it also takes place in Grace, California. Being in Vegas makes all the drama more dramatic. Except in the big city, the drama is kept to only a small group.
Thematic connection: A very common theme in this book is wanting what you can’t have. This applies to Harper especially. Harper really wants to be back in a relationship with Adam but he won’t give in. The first time they were together it was all lies because Harper broke him and Beth up to get him. To Adam that doesn’t sit right and he’s not sure what would be real if he tried it again with Harper.
Recommendation: If you love drama and tragic love, this book and series are definitely for you. I would recommend this book to anyone in high school. It was really easy to connect with being the same age as the characters in the book. I enjoyed the drama and how much it connected how a high school can actually be. I give this book a five out of five.
7.5/10 This is probably the best one of the series yet, which is wild cause when I first started it, I was so confused by the change in setting, 6 teenagers in Vegas, come on!?However, once things got moving in this one, they really picked up. Reading as the character flaws and secrets all unraveled and became known by one another was quite the ride. I’m glad Harper wasn’t as selfish as I thought she’d be when dealing with Beth, but man is she is ruthless sometimes with Miranda—so much for being besties. Also, come on Adam you don’t always have to be a knight in shining armor.
Excited to see how Kane and Miranda crash and burn in the last book of the series. Hopefully, the writing quality doesn’t return to the lack lusterness of the other books.
I read this book series back in 11th grade. I only vaguely remember them, but I know that I really liked them a lot. Sloth & Gluttony were my least favorite books in the series, according to my diary entries about this book series in October 2009. I read Sloth (#5) & Gluttony (#6) before reading Wrath (#4) apparently, so I was a little bit confused by them and that may have been why I liked them a little less. I really liked Lust (#1), Envy (#2), and Pride (#3) a lot though.
What happened in Vagus didn't stay in Vagus I suppose. Though, it's sad to say that this book of the series 'Seven Deadly Sins' is not so exciting anymore. My interest to finish has decreased but I will have to finish the whole series.
Holy cow, I can't believe how GOOOOOD this book was! Everything that happened in this book was absolutely amazing. Somehow, I think that the 5 main characters left will become friends, despite their differences. I liked how Wasserman used the literary element of foreshadowing to help the reader kind of foresee what will happen in the future. It really made me happy to finally see Miranda and Kane get together! In the first few books, it didn't seem like it was meant to be, but now they really seem like a perfect match. Things got really screwed up with Harper, and I hope that in the next book, she'll finally be happy--again. From this book (well, from Harper), I really learned that even though things seem tough, you really shouldn't give up. Just keep looking straight ahead, no matter how much you want to look back.

Recommended for high school due to language, drug use, underage drinking and gambling (all in the first chapter). No explicit, but a couple of instances of implied, sex. May appeal to readers of the Gossip Girls series. The characters are self-centered older high school students visiting Las Vegas for the weekend. The six main characters (3 male and 3 female) are all dealing with broken relationships and secrets, mostly involving each other. It was pretty melodramatic and overwrought, in my opinion. It may have helped to have read previous books in the series to have some background on incidents referred to in the book.
Easily my favorite book in the series so far. I read the entire book in one day. Relationships and enemies and secrets all finally come to a head in this book and I couldn't be more pleased with how it all played out, though Beth's twists and turns were surprisingly darker than I thought she was capable of. My only disappointment is that I have to wait 1-3 weeks for Greed to come in the mail so I can continue/finish up the series because for some reason it hasn't been converted to E-book format yet so I couldn't read it on my Kindle DX. Shame.
I really enjoyed this book the most so far out of the Seven Deadly Sins series. Mainly because it captivated my attention from beginning to end. You really see characters true colors and it makes you want more. Although now I'm getting super annoyed with Beth, she is an emotional reck downwardly spiraling and going to take everyone down with her. Right away going to begin next book!
I loved this book in the series because so many things happened and everything started to crumble so fast and it was like amazing. I loved how everything in the series changed so much in just one book.
Herşey ortaya çıktı. Beth yine affedildi..
A bit slow and vapid sounding at the beginning, but toward the end... Whoa! I love how Wasserman deals with the big issues that teens might face with a powerful story of deceit and consequences.
