This was a great story with lots of twist and turns i really enjoyed it.cant wait for part 2.
Typical urban black fiction book. I have read other books, by the author, but I wasn't impressed with this one. Not sure if I will complete the series.
Was a little slow in the beginning and I can tell this is some of her earlier work but overall I enjoyed the story and am ready to dive into the next one.
Semaj is a hood chick who is always looking for the next come up or chance to pull a lick on any and everybody. With the help of her murderous father and protective aunt they make a way outta no way.
As cunning as the trio may be, eventually karma catches up to them and she definitely is nothing nice. Plus it stings even more when it comes from the ones you thought were the closest to you.
Of course we leave off on a cliffhanger because there’s more to the series but it did feel like a nature place to stop. Just enough intrigue to pull you to the next book. It does feel obvious what will happen but who knows…off to #2!
She has done it again. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. There were many surprises twists and turns and at other points not so much. I was never sure of the death of Qasim it just seems to easy and I figured her father wasn't really dead. I am immediately starting the next book. I can't wait to see what else will go in the life of the Mafia Princess and her family.
Crazyyyy!!!!!! The drama never ended from start to finish! As bad as I wanted to dislike Semaj for her lifestyle, I couldn’t help but to want her to win. As far as Paris... Semaj should have known to never trust her from the very beginning. And why do I feel like Quasim is not dead?! Can’t wait to start reading part two.
Semaj went through so much seems like every time she finds happiness something happens. Poor girl. Is Murder Mitch dead OMG Poppa Gio. I don't think Qua is dead I hope not because Vega is a snake. Paris must be a car with 9 lives. On to book 2 lol.
I Fell In Love Semaj's Character, She Took Blow After Blow After Blow And She's Standing, Paris Need A Crazy Check Cuz Something Is Really Wrong With Her, And Now Her Sister Is Gone She's Gonna Be Off Her Rocker Even More.....
I haven't read a book by Deja King in a while. But the ones I have were much better. This book was all over the place. The characters were blah. The premise was OK. But there were certain things that didn't make sense. At times it seemed that certain situation and people just popped up with no precursor.I hope I wasn't the only that didn't know who Slim and Chi were when they came out of nowhere three quarters in. Everything was a bit too coincidental. The twists were good. Paris's character was also a good element. But, it wasn't very engaging or cohesive.
Mafia Princess by Michelle Monay was a great read. The story took a little while to get started but when it did, phew! Semaj and her father took no prisoners and I loved the twists and turns. This is the 2nd novel I've read by Ms. Monay ( the 1st was Wife) and I must say, she is definitely doing her thing! 4.5 stars! Can't wait for part 2.
If you've read her "Bitch" books and are looking to read this, you might be slightly disappointed. The storyline isn't the same as the Bitch books, but is very similar. The plot and characters sort of share the same background as her "Bitch" characters. Not sure if Mafia Princess is a must read for all Deja King readers. Her endings are always intriguing though...
This contains a spoiler!!! Wow!!! Great book! I loved Semaj and Qua storyline. This book had so many twists and turns I was like OMG I didn't see that coming lol! What was up with Gabe and Paris brother and sister!?! Makes sense now I can't wait for part II. Semaj is really gangsta now!
This felt like a mix of several other books I have already read, with the greatest similarity being to The Cartel. The book felt jumpy and just all over the place. Not the worse book ever, but definitely not a must-read.
I was not able to put this book down from the moment I started it. I like the names she used for the characters Semaj, Quaisem. Loved the way Semaj's character evolved. I think the man on the mystery island is Quaisem. Can't wait to read Mafia Princess 2: Married to the mob.
I got to say I been following all the books Deja king wrote .Just wondering when she was planning to write another mafia book. Her books are great. You won't feel you waste your money. she can write some great books. Check out all of Deja kings.
