Review - An interesting look at the development of the house. Covers places like Hever Castle, Framlingham Castle, Ashby-la-Zouche, and Penshurst Place, among many, many others. It gives lots of general background, but I could also have done with more detail on some of the places it just skirts over, and a bit about what happened to the houses after the Medieval period, just a sentence or two about their development and how much of the original Medieval house now remains.
