Who among our friends and enemies will sacrifice themselves—or others—to save the world from annihilation? What will be the ultimate fate of the child Chushinmaru, a “spirit reservoir” trapped alone for 400 years in the mystical site of Karasumori? And what is the final destiny of Karasumori’s faithful guardians, Yoshimori and Tokine...?!
Trainwreck side story that destroys the main story, is exacerbated by a rushed plot without success to giving flesh to the characters that should be considered (the worst, which is foreshadowed throughout the story, Yoshimori Mother). Side stories are actually made for the conflict between the main plot and help the foundation of main plot, but in the end the side story isn't really able to come into direct contact because the problem with evil figures whose agenda is outside the main plot agenda, this who made the plot really weak.
Simply put, this story should just tell a personal story, which is grounded and attached to the main character, because at the end of the conclusions is lack. Kekkaishi is interesting at the beginning of the arc because the main character is always active in making problems and deciding the direction in which the plot is, there are problems and development of Tokine and Yoshimori's relationships that become the flesh of the story, and how family ties are built.
The weak ending of all things, a brief explanation that feels late without the main character succeeding in any action. Closed with after story which does not dramatically conclude about what is really the story's core, really, it's a shame because Kekkaishi according to me is shounen which is really special from the premise, character, and all the elements that should be in any decent shounen manga.
It was good end, but I wanted to help Yoshimori’s mother... And also, if Chuushinmaru could live with human, it would be the best ending for me. I was almost cry at the scenes of a last message of Yoshimori’s mother to Yoshimori’s father. It was soooo good!

The end! Surprisingly emotional *sniffle* for a shonen manga. Lots of reveals as the major players gather, face to face. Showdowns for the Ogi clan and the remains of the Shadow Organisation. Yoshimori faces his greatest task yet that changes everything for the Karasumori Kekkaishi.
All in all, a really fun and consistent story. Not as bombastic as some other series out there, with some good twists and plenty of odd ayakashi.
THE END! So okay, here's my verdict: Although it suffers from the wobbles and vicissitudes of serialization, and not all of the plot threads move at the right pace or reinforce each other as much as they should have (and many of them fizzled, with characters just drifting off into nowhere), and I suspect Tanabe had maybe a quarter to a third of the story (tops) in his head when he started, this is very much worth reading. It's a genuinely excellent specimen of the shōnen fight comic genre, but much more thoughtful and humane than its peers, and it strikes a very solid balance between explosive inventiveness and metaphysical consistency and moral heft.
Okay, I think that’s most of what I’ve got. Who else has read this thing?
Kekkaishi, Vol. 35 concludes where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the last ten chapters (336–345) of the on-going manga series.
As the battle to save Karasumori and reclaim the Shadow Organization concludes, what is left is to seal away Chushinmaru Karasumori once and for all to rid the power strewing from the Karasumori site and to rid the attraction of ayakashi to the site. The fate of the Karasumori site, the Shadow Organization, and the main protagonists are revealed and settled.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Yellow Tanabe. This tankōbon sees the conclusion to series. For all intents and purposes, by the time this volume fires up, the main conflict is over, and all that’s left is to watch all of the pieces fall into place in a grand conclusion that dragged through the last ten chapters of the series.
Overall, Kekkaishi is a wonderful series centering on two protagonists who by day are seemingly regular students, but at night they are kekkaishi – demon-hunters who specializes in creating magical barriers around their prey. Yellow Tanabe has created a wonderful world filled with mythology, demons, and magic that would drag readers through an epic adventure filled with adventure, the supernatural, and a tinge of romance.
All in all, Kekkaishi, Vol. 35 is a wonderful conclusion to an equally wonderful series.
The final battle is kind of boring as it is mostly talking but I do have to admit the new character they introduced was pretty interesting and to be fair the final battle was not the true climax. As the real Climax is Yoshimori giving Chushinmaru a new home where he can finally live without causing harm to anyone. And how they do that is really good and it does do a really great job of giving every character a nostalgia moment. As Yoshimori fills the new home with all of the characters he has every met including villains. Making sure Chushinmaru never runs out of playmates and he can spend the rest of his now mortal life filled with joy. Even giving Tokimori a chance to be a real father. The series overall was ok, really disappointed that Tokine was not as developed as Yoshimori was. She just seemed mainly their to be the smart one and to be saved by everyone else. But still some really good characters like Gen and Sumiko. Kind of wished the final villain was tied better into the main story as it feels like the final villain was not really needed as he had nothing to do with the Karasumori plot. But still a decent adventure.

4.5 🌟 Mayuka kind of deserved what was coming. The scene with Gen was so wholesome I almost cried!
Kind of annoying that the mom had to sacrifice herself just about when she entered the storyline. I feel so sorry for the dad. Can't believe it's over. I loved the anime but was so sad that they didn't adapt the whole manga.
Overall pretty happy ending, but a lot of my questions remained unanswered.
PS. I really wanted the relationship between Tokine and Yoshimori to evolve just a bit more. I mean I get it they're pretty much kids but we could've had a few scenes of a 10 years time skip where they were together or smth.

So...I finished it! The long series I started last month! A sorta almost-happy-ending-for-everyone kind of thing...
Dang, just when I was just starting to like Chushinmaru! And that new world that Yoshimori built! Ugh!! THE FEEEELS.
But you can definitely sense the new level of maturity Yoshimori, above all other characters, has acquired. The last 4 chapters are definitely the sweetest :)
I finally finished this series. I rather enjoyed it and got quite addicted to it after a while, however other things got in the way so I couldnt read it as quickly as I perhaps could have.
