How do gays find love when sex is as easy as picking a man from an iPhone app?
Is there more to gay life in London than cocktails and cockpics?
Handsome but shy Peter and his best friend Blake think it'll be as easy as G A Y to find boyfriends using the iPhone app Grindr. But carried agay by the endless supply of men and the dazzling excitements of London's gay scene they find it's not as easy as they'd hoped to find love (though the men are easier than they dreamed).
Endless nights of grinding, partying and casual sex can take their toll even on gym toned Peter and young, dumb and full of cum Blake. Will either man snag a boyf without losing their liver, themselves and their friendship in the process?
Err.... a director of HSBC in London.. needing flatmates? Really? It all seemed far too coarse and somehow slightly distateful. I liked the picture on the cover though!
I was entertained by this: quite a good-natured, light throwaway read. Energetic, up-beat, witty prose and detailed, well-observed descriptions of Greenwich and Soho are the highlights. The characterisation could have been further developed for me - I sometimes felt the main characters were subordinated too heavily to the plot in the sense that action was pre-ordained rather than arising from their personalities - also, they somewhat escaped the full consequences of their actions in order to get to the happy ending. The title is misleading - this is not a heavily erotic novel.
The title must put most people off but it’s worth reading as it has a reasonable story line characters are slightly two dimensional maybe a realistic view on gay London life but slightly cynical. The book had story lines that had depth which I didn’t put down. It was a based in London so I did get annoyed with the terminology “slacks” they are called "trousers" in the UK.
