Rowan’s life had been perfect until his fiancé decided to seduce his best friend the night before their wedding and ultimately destroyed everything he’d dreamed of. After breaking off the wedding and the relationship, he vowed to never allow another woman to have that much control over his heart again. That is, until one morning when a knock on his door revealed beautiful, sexy Madison. Madison, having just moved to sunny California from a small town in Kansas, is in awe of the hunky doctor living next door, but her insecurities keep her from accepting his initial advances. The connection Rowan and Madison experience after a night of hot sex cannot be denied, but will Madison’s insecurities be too much for their relationship to flourish? Will the relationship that Rowan is finally willing to accept end before it even gets a chance to start or can he convince Madison that her fears are unwarranted?
So, this is where I am supposed to write a little about who I am. Well, here we go...
I am a woman who wears many hats. I am first and foremost Wife and Mother. Family time is the most important thing to me. Our family loves fishing, camping and anything outdoor. Year round we are also involved in watching our son play soccer. Next comes full time college student, author and photographer.
My life is filled with many joys, but writing is a passion that I have had since I was a kid. I feel very blessed to be able to share my work with the world and hope that you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
Let me start out by saying I have not read the first book in the series but I plan to. I just hope it's as good as this one because honestly I really did enjoy this one and didn't want it to come to an end.
I loved Rowan!! He is not only sexy and smart but he has a great career as a Doctor. He hasn't had it so easy in the love department but he is looking but he doesn't want to make another mistake. Than he meets his next door neighbor and sets his eyes on her. Rowan now has to win her over.
Madison just moved into a new house and is having trouble with the plumbing in her kitchen. She knows a Doctor lives next door so just maybe he can help her out. But she is expecting an old man so when Rowan answers the door lust over takes her.
Okay so I already said this but it warrants me saying it again. I really this novella. Rowan Is totally hot and now my new obsession with hot Doctors is in full effect! Lol
The story was well written, the characters were more than likable, and the plot made actual sense. Ava Riley covered all the major points. The characters fit well together. Almost as good as Rowan being with me. Lol
This story was not only upbeat bit exciting. I couldn't put it down and I really didn't want it to come to an end. I am hoping there will be more books in this series with some more sexy Doctors I can drool over. If your in the mood for a hot, romantic, and sexy novella this is for you. Happy Reading!

So, I was enjoying this typical, but cute book with a promise of heat when I noticed the first typo: cuming. Oh well, I thought, everyone gets a couple. But, I doubt the writer intended to me to break out in laughter when I came to:
He had been pleasantly surprised when she'd pulled him for a another kiss and knew that when he finally got her into bed she would be wonton.
Okay, it was funny and an unintentional error once, when I read another instance it was sloppy, and the third time it was a matter of poor editing or simply failing to proof. It does matter.
This novella was free when I downloaded it but is no longer unless you are on Amazon Prime. Since I have not received an update notice and downloaded it on April 25, I assume the errors haven't been corrected. Aside from any other qualities possessed by the book, as a reader I feel I am disrespected when blatant and distracting errors appear repeatedly. The distraction makes it hard to read the story and to take the author seriously.
As far as the story goes. There are some nice moments. It mostly plays to genre, with some inadequate motivation precipitating unlikely behaviors. In this story, the couple is kept apart because of their own ideas and assumptions; a lack of communication. The characters have some unique characteristics, and the unlikely ability to buy houses near the beach in Long Beach, California right after med school and college. Since they talk about their lack of funds in college, I don't think there was a ton of cash. Perhaps, since each had lost a parent, they each got access to a trust fund after college.
The decision to keep her virginity sounded more like a matter of time and deciding to study hard than a "saving herself" situation. So, I didn't thik it was such a big deal, but it was. It was made clear, however that she had experience with gratification and with a "rabbit vibrator." So, her virginity was probably not protected by a hymen. Yes, I guess it could still be painful.
I don't know why I pick at these things, but the devil is in the details.
On the plus side Riley does possess a natural sense of storytelling. She is going somewhere and I would look forward to another story from her—properly edited, of course.
It was a sweet enough story. And I do love a happy ending. But it seemed to jump from point A to point Q, and I confess to getting a little annoyed with the lovely Madison for the way she behaved at times. I would have preferred the story be a little longer and more "complete" (as in, not jumping) but it was an easy read - just what I was looking for, and I will happily read more by Ava Riley in the future.
A very nice romance that I read in a few hours. I liked both Madison and Rowan but I thought Rowan got over his heartbreak a little quickly. This, however , did not take way from the love that grew between the two MC. I liked how Madison reacted to things and I wish more women were like her. Hell, in some ways I wish I were more like her!
