Hot Mess Express, Population: Me.
If Tempest was a whirlwind, Inferno is a fireball of betrayal, angst, and powers that refuse to behave. Janelle’s evolution is fiery in every sense, and the tension between characters? Let’s just say I needed oven mitts. Holly Hook doesn’t just raise the stakes—she incinerates them. Loved the heat, loved the chaos, and yes, I binged it in one sitting like the disaster-prone reader I am.

I also listened to this book on Audio. This is book 2 in the destroyers series. It still had an interesting concept where a girl Kena has learned that she is a decedent from a Volcano goddess and she can affect active Volcanoes. She meets up with Janel the tempest high leader and of course drama ensues. The only thing I didn't like was that they changed Gary's name to Gareth

Another fun, unique story from Holly Hook! It's written for a younger audience, which I often struggle to enjoy, but I always know I'm going to have a good time with anything she writes.

I received this book for an open and honest review.

Janelle and Gary are back in the second book in the Destroyers Series. They are visiting a volcano just to have the ground open underneath a girl named Kenna. Kenna doesn't know it but she is a volcano goddess like her mother, Pele!!! Kenna takes off at the sight of Pele and sets into motion her mother's temper as she kidnaps Gary and gives Janelle just a few days to find her daughter. This book is about how Janelle and her friend go off to find Kenna and instead of finding Kenna, they find so much more!!! Will Janelle find Kenna in time to save Gary??? You will have to read it to find out!!!

This book is an excellent sequel to Tempest. I liked Kenna, who is ...erm... volcanic ... as much as I did Janelle (and Janelle is in this book, too). Inferno has a number of big surprises and some great descriptive writing. The only complaint I have is that it's too short. I could have read three times as much as this in one sitting! Read Tempest first, and then read this book.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I love the characters and how Hook once again finds a way to engage us in the story of how a young girl deals with the changes she encounters when her powers emerge. As usual great story and one that draws you in and keeps you there til the last page.

I enjoyed that the characters were the same from the first book but it didn't hold my attention as the first one did. I found myself just reading it be finished as opposed to wanting to see what happened.
