Waiting on God

Rate this book
You pray, but God doesn’t seem to be listening. You trust Him, but it appears He’s letting you down. You believe His Word, but His promises are coming up seemingly empty in your life. You seek, but do not find…you knock, but no one answers. If God is doing anything at all in your life…you can’t see it. The fight of faith intensifies, as it appears that not only is God running late…He may not even show up at all. By the looks of things, God’s either too busy in the lives of others or He just simply doesn’t care.

All of our Christian life, we’re prepared to hear God speak to us, but nothing prepares us for His silence. It’s in these times of desperation, when we’re filled with doubt in the midst of our faith, when waiting on God appears to be in vain, that our faith is tested, grown, and strengthened, as we learn to trust in Him even when there appears to be now reason that we should.
While we wait on God, it’s His Promises that we’ll cling to, and ultimately put our faith in, when our lives are hanging by a thread. We’ll find that God knows what He’s doing. He’s in control…even when life isn’t. You’ll find that even when your world seems to be falling apart…it’s really just falling into place in the hands of your Almighty loving God.

I'm just a sinner, saved by God's AMAZING grace, with one desire: for my life to be poured out as a servant to Christ, in order to bring glory to God.

God has given me the great joy of spreading His Word around the world through Scripturenow.com And even though I have a BA in Psychology and I'm trained in Biblical Counseling through the AACC . . . it is truly God who has qualified me, through my daily surrender, as I walk intimately with Him one day at a time.

In the most amazing journey of my life, God has seen fit to make me an International Bestselling Christian Living author. More miraculously, I've been ranked #6 in Bestselling authors for Amazon in the Religion and Spirituality category. Truly, God still does miracles. (It's ONLY by the grace of God that I am who I am. 1 Corinthians 15:10)

My published works are:"Waiting on God," "Be Still: Let Jesus Calm Your Storms," "Beginning at The End: Finding God When Your World Falls Apart, "The Ways of God: Finding Purpose Through Your Pain," "Hope Being Gone," "empty. Wow, I started reading this book right after I downloaded it and didn't stop reading it until I reached the end at 1 a.m. in the morning.

It's a very short and simple read but packs a powerful punch. I needed this book because it taught me to be a follower of God, to wait on him to show me his will for my life instead of me trying to be in control.

Well written

I have been waiting, all my life. I always came back from adversity. Horrible childhood, first marriage, then I marry again. Every thing I felt was important to me, I have lost or am losing. I have cried out for help. No answer. Although it is said, you do not get more than you can handle, I have that now. I was always loving, kind, and giving since 2008, I am the opposite of who I used to be. I have little faith left. Wish He would take me away, or send me to Hell. It cannot be worse than the past eleven years.

Confusing

This book really blessed me. I'm in a place right now where everything Ms. Hill wrote could have been written just for me and it blessed me tremendously. What confused me were the "Bonus Features." Half of this book was the first chapter of two other books. And while that was nice it left me bewildered. I was expecting more content on waiting but only received one chapter. It was as if in the middle of a life changing conversation, she accepted a phone call and never finished talking to me. So again, "Waiting on God" was very good but equally brief.

Waiting on God' s Glory

1. I love this book because my wife & I are currently waiting on God to move in our lives right now.

2. This book is for people who is wanting their second season of life to better than the first season. Walking in faith with God in the second half of my life, marriage and job. Seeking God's best and knowing him for myself.

3. This is a wonderful book for all people waiting for God to move in their life. Stay in the "Eye of the Storm" and be still and allow God to do the rest to calm your storm.

Full of Power

Everything written in this book is centered around scripture. The Word of God is power! Cherie teaches us to use the power while we wait on God. We wait with hope knowing that He will answer at the perfect time for our good and for His glory!

Someone I love very much has been suffering, and I have often found myself in a "waiting place", waiting on God to answer my prayers. As Dr. Seuss best describes such a waiting place...

You can get so confused
that you’ll start in to race
down long wiggled roads
at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles
across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place . . .
(Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!)

Waiting on God by Cherie Hill explains the despair of the waiting place, and how God uses it for ultimate good. This is a short read that repeats ideas often. I think it could have really been an essay, however, I found this book inspiring, but more importantly faith-building.

The author here presents some very good points, and her passion for following God and waiting upon Him are certainly an inspiration. The Kindle edition however, is more of a compilation of various works from Ms. Hill. By the time the table of contents is presented for each book and other introductory comments, only the first chapter is given to the reader. The titles overlap in content, with the same thoughts being shared repeatedly. It's an inspiring read, but it is short. It could also use another critical edit. Cherie Hill shows much promise here, but the content and presentation need to be refined considerably.

This is a must read for Christians on their journey of faith. The book is filled with scripture references and practical examples on how we need to find a quite time and place to wait on God and listen for his guidance and direction in our lives. I was deeply moved by the book. I have already experienced much of what Cherie writes about and I know how critical it is to find time for "Waiting on God". I highlighted many sections of the book and I hope to be able to review and reread the book in the near future.

I have placed Cherie Hill on my list of great Christian authors and plan on reading more of her books soon.

Absolutely wonderful book. Worth buying and reading again and again. The author takes time to expound on a point to make sure the reader understands. Other reviews say that the book is repetitive, but I found that each scenario not only helped me understand her point but also gain a whole new perspective. I also feel that this is necessary for people who are in a difficult place in their life, to help them discover that there is hope to be found even during the darkest times in their life. Maybe the harsh critics don't realize how blessed they are to not need someone to assure them in a way that they can relate that there is hope in a seemingly hopeless world.

The best Christian book I have read in a long time. It's my favorite and I'm sure it will be for years to come. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is hurting and waiting on God. I've already read it through a half dozen times. I've been blessed by it each time I've read it. It's awesome. Cherie doesn't give trite, pat answers to life's problems, but gives real answers from scripture. This book would make an excellent gift as well.

truly a wonderful piece of work. I guarantee anyone who gets this book will not regret it. Get one for each of your family members. This is my first book by Cherie hill and I am really impressed. She explains in detail all the troubles we go through in our walk with god and pays much attention to the significance and importance it is to have faith and put our trust in god. definitely 5 stars

This book was a very pleasant surprise. It is spiritually enriching and just what I needed it. Scriptures are full of promises of God desiring an ini
Timmie relationship with us and what it takes to trust in Him. I was very inspired and blessed. The storms of life create the opportunity for God to give you a personal miracle. And as He did with the storm on Galilee, He can end it instantly, and that might be as frightening as the storm. God wants you.

So much inner reflection on one's personal relationship with Christ, reminding us all of three things. 1) God loves us and will never leave us, 2) God desires to be involved in one's life, and 3) God can do some amazing things in ones life if one lets Him. Cherie does a wonderful job presenting this enlightenment of knowledge with love and dutiful purpose. Highly recommend this book.

Wonderful book. This book gives you so much peace and understanding during a time in your life where you are in limbo and waiting on God to move. I would recommend this book to anyone who is going through a time of waiting - we all go through these time periods during our life and it helps so much to know that God is there and that there is a purpose in the waiting.

ok, I'm going to have to admit a little information overload here. while experiencing the deep, dark caverns of mein kampf, after toiling in the diamond mines of tozer, and after being lifted on eagles wings to the heavenlies by em bounds, I got absolutely nothing out of this book. unfortunately this is some collateral damage of a reading contest, but I take full blame for lack of character.

Enjoyed this book!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, such an inspiring read! Going through storms in life, sometimes it's difficult to keep the faith and trust that God has a better plan, especially when everything is falling down around you. This book helped re-inspire me to keep believing that God has a plan worked out for me!

I enjoyed reading this book & definitely learned a few things as well as gained some new insights. It was very repetitive & I'm not sure how I feel about this basically being a compilation (of 1st chapters) of 3 different books. I might look into more books by this author, but I'm still undecided.

Excellent

I just list my 30 year job and I had this on my Kindle, so I reread it and every chapter, every word spoke directly to my anguish. Waiting on God, indeed. It was as if I was led to it. Things aren't better yet, but I've been able to find the stillness.

Great book. I like all of Cherie Hill's books. They are so inspiring, especially during tough times. I found her book Calm first, because it seemed like a good choice when I found out my mom has stage 4 breast cancer and won't be around much longer. Very inspiring author.

Great read! I struggle with the waiting. This book has helped me to recognize the reason for the wait and what God is doing in the "waiting" period. It also touches on our faith and how to get filled when empty! Great book!

This was a great and uplifting book. However, the kindle version had some issues with formatting. I actually think the book started and stopped and then other books by the same author started, excerpts etc. So definitely get the paper book version. Still I enjoyed it a lot!
