I had very high hopes on this book as I love time-travel-stories. However, the way the main character hatches the superman-round-the-world-time-travel-idea, and the crew going along with it didn't feel good. His whole idea of then crashing the shuttle into the ocean, with a microscopic chance of surviving, instead of trying to contact Nasa from orbit to try to delay the launch, or at least crash the shuttle into the "young" shuttle, also feels like a really dumb way of trying to change the past. And why kill his crew, for fear that they would hinder him in reaching Nasa. Wouldn't it be more convincing with all of them showing up, or at least they would have a greater chance of somebody reaching the General if they all went in parallel.
I really liked the book up until "let's go round the earth", and the rest of the book is well-written and exciting, but I'm sad to say I couldn't get over the fundamental plot-items mentioned above.
