I was happy to get finished with this book. Wow, the Baptist invasion of the Ukraine. Lemke even says that because of the Baptist, the Ukraine now had hope. Lemke seems not to understand anything about Catholicism, which comes through in her writing. The book is nicely written, but the content is not. Lemke could have at least started a Bible study for teenage girls or women, but she did not participate too much as a missionary. Her role was wife and mother. That is fine, but when you call yourself a missionary be one, and also develop a sense of ecumenism and respect for others choices.
I'd had this in my personal library for a long time. It's often very interesting to read about missionaries in the field, and their experiences adjusting to the culture and environment (Russia), and trying to work within the culture to foster unity, train pastors and build up churches. Russia is tough dirt to hoe!
