As a child Ella read books under the covers with a flashlight. There she found a special love of elves, dragons, and knights. Now that she's found her own knight in shining armor and happily ever after, she loves to write tales of fantasy, hot enough to scorch the sheets. No flashlight needed.

I received this book from Netgalley as part of a multi-work collection (Once Upon A Fairy Tale: A Collection of 11 Fairy Tale Inspired Romances) in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Bio-engineering... Rapunzel... I'm on board.

But then not long after it begins, she's abducted, drugged, and taken somewhere. When she comes to, there's a woman (doctor/scientist) there telling her she's going to be interrogated about her hair (which is supposedly indestructible).

A man (apparently the scientist's son) comes in and less than a minute later there's some sort of gas being pumped in the room and those two are not only DTF, but they are actually going at it.

I came here for a story, not a poorly written porn synopsis.

DING DONG. PIZZA DELIVERY.

OH I CAN'T PAY, BUT I CAN DING YOUR DONG.

Pass. Another DNF.

Framed As A Killer shouldn't be my favorite novel in the Snatcher Series so far, but it is. Ms. Stowe shouldn't have been able to pull off two things that typically drive me freaking crazy, but somehow, someway she did. Let me explain. I don't really like it when authors add paranormal elements into non-paranormal series. I can't really explain why it bugs me; it just does. However, Ms. Stowe completely pulled it off in this novel. I loved Court's secret, and this novel would not have been the same without his "gift". It was a crucial element to the story, and I completely bought it. Also, I don't usually buy into instant love. In my head, instant love translates to unbelievable love. All of the relationship in the Snatcher Series developed extremely fast, but I believed in the character's feelings for one another and I rooted for their relationships because Ms. Stowe did a fabulous job explaining their instant connections.

Paige Bromin fell for Court Lawson when he saved her life when she was nine years old. Since then, she has loved him from a far. She's the only person in Miners Bend who is able to see past the "town crazy" and recognize the good in him. After he is accused of being the Miners Bend Woman Snatcher, Paige assigns herself as his protector. She knows that everyone else in Miners Bend thinks Court is guilty, people who want to harm the man who killed their friends, neighbors, and loved ones, and she doesn't want to see him hurt. Plus, Paige knows Court's secret, and she knows he's innocent.

Everyone in Miners Bend thinks Court Lawson is a crazy bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. They don't have nice things to say about him, and they don't have pleasant thoughts about him. He's never heard anything positive about himself until he meets Paige Bromin, a sexy, voluptuous woman with a heart of gold. Unable to resist her light and goodness, Court falls for Paige fast and hard. Before Paige and Court can have their happily ever after, Court has to convince everyone that he isn't a killer, and he has to convince them quick, because the real killer is still out there.

Framed By A Killer was intense. The romance, the suspense, the passion, and the discoveries were all heart-pounding, jaw-dropping, OMG intense.

I gave Framed By A Killer (Snatcher Series #3) by Miranda Stowe 4 STARS. I'm in love with this series, and I strongly recommend it to adults who like an erotic twist on their romantic suspense.

Update: I've read the first four books in the Snatcher Series, and I have zero complaints. I'm pretty sure the Snatcher Series is technically classified as a companion series since each novel could be read on its own; however, I strongly recommend reading the entire series in order. I read the first four books in the series back-to-back. Each book is fairly short, and the authors clear and concise writing style makes for a very easy read.

What can you expect from the first four books in the Snatcher Series?
-Lots of crazy, erotic sex
-Sexy, protective alpha males
-Spunky, independent women who aren't afraid of their sexuality
-Some BDSM
-A M/F/M realtionship (Interview With A Killer)
-A demented psychopath who likes to kidnap, break, and kill women
-Loads of suspense
-And a lot of romance

-XOXO

In the last book, Saved From A Killer, Court Lawson (the town’s recluse resident) is taken into custody and accused of being The Snatcher – the notorious serial killer terrorizing Miner’s Bend – when he’s caught drugging Jenna Daggert. The whole town is ready to lynch him and make him pay for his crimes except for Paige Bromin (Jenna’s cousin) who swears he’s innocent.

When Paige was a child, Court rescued her, and adult Paige refuses to think the man of her (wet) dreams could ever be anything other than a hero. Instead of hearing the evidence against him, she quickly comes up with a reason why Court drugged her cousin, Jenna. You see, Court has a secret – a secret Paige is convinced she knows and discovered years ago.

She believes that Court, whose mother was labeled a witch, passed on her telepathic abilities to her son, and when Jenna escapes The Snatcher and can’t remember any details about him, Court takes it upon himself to see if he can extract those memories from her subconscious – without outing his secret to anyone.

Determined to prove she’s right, Paige sets out in a crusade to clear the man who’s won her heart and who she hopes will permanently replace her Battery Operated Boyfriend (Bob). It won’t be an easy thing to do, though, as she’s going to have to take on her family, the entire town, and The (real) Snatcher himself who is desperately trying to pin his crimes onto Court Lawson.

Framed As A Killer is a great read full of suspense, hottt racy scenes between Court and Paige, and fast paced action you won’t soon forget!

***available in the Once Upon A Fairy Tale collection***

Rapunzel "Zel" Denmark, a bio-creation, is kidnapped from her "home" one day, and brought to one of the many flying islands in the sky for the owner to experiment on her hair. But her captivity isn't the only thing Zel should be worried about; there's also her pesky sexual relationship with the owner's son—a man opposed to creations like Zel.

The premise was interesting and intriguing, so it's a pity the story wasn't executed better. I felt no connection to (and between) the two protagonists, the beginning read more like PWP than a real story, and the world-building had much to be desired. I know it's the second installment in a series, but I was rather lost at times.

Right now I'm torn between 3.5/5 and 4/5. I do love Ms. Drake's cyberpunk retakes of classic fairy tales, and this one was definitely a creative re-imagining.

I think what bothered me mostly (outside of the rate of hair growth lol) was that because of the civil rights issues in the story, I couldn't feel that the ending was a true Happily Ever After. Which, I admit, isn't really fair of me, because if everything had been all perfect and wonderful, I would probably be complaining that everything was too neat and tidy :P

Hence, being torn on the rating.

Full review to (eventually) follow. Hopefully.

" ... As the third book in the Snatcher series, it was an unexpected surprise for me. I enjoyed the first book, but faltered in my enjoyment just a bit with book two, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with Framed As A Killer. I am pleased that I continued to read this series. Ms. Stowe changed things up a bit by combining a slight touch of the paranormal with a love that had been growing for years. Paige’s conviction that Court is innocent, paired with Court’s natural distrust of anyone, adds conflict and chemistry to this story."

I got this in the Once Upon A Fairy Tale box set. It's a dystopian/futuristic retelling of the Repunzel fairy tale. I enjoyed this and see that it's the second book in a series. Must get the first one now.
