When a billionaire wants you dead… how do you survive?

Alaska Brown hasn’t been seen since she disappeared from a casino parking lot. The cops say she left willingly. The FBI isn’t looking.

Private investigator Sara Flores has found nine missing people since she was turned into a werewolf. Her secret gives her an edge, but in this case it may not be enough.

The trail is cold and there are too many suspects, but Sara’s caught the scent of something very evil here. A man who thinks his wealth excuses any perversion. A man who doesn’t see the rest of us as even human. If Alaska is still alive, her terror must be unimaginable.

Can Sara and her small team of misfits really find Alaska and take down a billionaire — or is this the case that gets them all killed?

Did you ever want to be more than yourself? I always have. As a kid, I imagined I lived up in the clouds with a band of other kids. We would swoop down — because we could fly! — and rescue people in trouble. And we’d beat the crap out of their abusers. When I got older, I became obsessed with crime and mysteries. I wanted to know how someone could track down evil doers and peel back their false faces — exposing them to the world.

The day I quit my corporate job — my dreams came true. Today I spend my days throwing my character, Sara Flores, at one criminal mastermind after another — just to see what she can do.

And… I cheated. I let her be more than herself by making her a werewolf — the only magical creature in a world otherwise just like ours. Because I wanted to see what she could do with a wolf’s senses and strength. And wildness.

So join me for stories of ruthless criminals, suspicious cops, and Sara’s small band of misfits fighting to save us all. Test drive my world with a free story at SueDenver.com.

192 Days Missing is the second book in the Sara Flores Werewolf PI series by American author, Sue Denver. Sara Flores is setting up a very basic office for her PI business when her IT expert, Mason Spencer brings in a new client. George and Dyani Stintson are desperate: their daughter, Alaska Brown went missing 192 days earlier from the parking station of Tulsa’s Four Leaf Clover Casino, where she works as a cashier.

An eye-witness claimed she willingly got into a van with a swarthy man, and Tulsa police believe she went off with her boyfriend, but her parents vehemently deny that she would leave her teenaged son and daughter. Sara decides to take the case but, much as she would prefer to work alone, she realises they will need some muscle, so reluctantly calls on Connor Rockwood, a body-guard with a Special Forces background who assisted in her first case as a PI.

Mason also convinces her to bring in one of her previous rescues, events planner Judy Street, whose logistics skills will definitely come in handy. While Mason checks out possible suspects with whom Alaska has had adverse encounters, Connor infiltrates the casino’s security staff. Judy is excited about going under-cover into the casino to casually ask questions but this backfires when she’s the victim of a kidnapping attempt.

As a range of potential suspects (an ex-husband, a dodgy liquor store owner, a paroled paedophile, a local gang known for gun running, drugs and forgery) are eliminated or classified as hired thugs, Sara and her team close in on a possible location. A trip to Mexico, a lesson in drone use, a daring rescue (or two), quite a lot of bloodshed and a helicopter escape later, they still have to locate their object. Does Sara succeed?

Denver is building a Sara a team of capable and appealing members who provide muscle, IT smarts and organisational talents. Undaunted by her close shave, Judy relishes the challenge of making Sara’s PI business effective while keeping it under IRS radar. There’s plenty of fun banter between the characters which provides comic relief. Denver puts the emphasis on female self-sufficiency, and the werewolf aspect does not overwhelm the story.

Sara and her team specialise in rescues of those targeted by rich and powerful men whose hidden offshore accounts “donate” the funds that allow future rescues to be staged. Sara actions more than resemble vigilante justice, although most times she has solid proof if she takes on the role of judge, jury and executioner. At times it’s still necessary to don your disbelief suspenders, but the best advice is to just sit back and enjoy an entertaining ride.

A Difficult Story . . .

Alaska Brown went missing, last seen in the casino’s parking lot. The police seem hesitant to look any further for her, convinced she left on her own. Now a werewolf P.I. Sara Flores is on the case. Normally she can use her enhanced werewolf senses to give her an advantage in finding someone. But too much time has passed to pick up on the scents. There are many suspects as well to track down and question.

There is also another element that makes this case a difficult challenge. A powerful wealthy man puts himself above the law and feels he can get away with anything, any type of depravity that would destroy the mind and body of an innocent. He is evil personified. Has he taken Alaska for his sick amusement? If Sara finds her at all, will she still be alive? Or would she be beyond help by now? Grab your copy and see if true and fair justice is actually served on this creature who dares to even think of himself as human.

192 Days Missing, by Sue Denver

Fast-paced and direct, you’ll want to finish this one in a single sitting, it’s that compelling. Fortunately, it’s a relatively short read and so you can do just that 😊

Alaska Brown was abducted by the sheer bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She wasn’t the target, but as she witnessed the planned abduction, they had to take her too. 192 days later, with the police completely disinterested, her parents appoint P.I. Sara Flores to solve the case.

The main characters of Sara and her misfit team were well developed and likeable, with just a dash of supernatural thrown in with the knowledge that Sara is a werewolf, a secret she has shared with only two other people.

Sara is gritty and witty and I really enjoyed the growing relationship of trust within her new team as they overcome huge challenges in a race against time to beat the billionaires who think they’re untouchable.

4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest review.

It’s all fun and games (and a regular day at your 9-5 job), until you are abducted on a parking garage, just to find out that you weren’t the target and you might die if you don’t prove yourself useful to the kidnappers (that kill women for fun). And if you think this isn’t curious enough to be interested in this book, just ask yourself why would a werewolf want to learn Krav Maga?

192 Days Missing, is the latest book from the Werewolf P.I. Series, and from the start you have an interesting and relatively fast paced novel that gets to the point in every chapter. There is no ramble as scenes develop and chapters reach their goals, which, as mystery, helps to keep the reader engaged and entertained.

For mystery lovers, this is a novel that will keep on pulling and pulling, and giving so little, yet enough to keep you curious and entertained on the mystery that they are trying to solve, and for those like me that loves to create projections of the plot and theories, you will be finding yourself saying.”Ahah! I have got this figured out, but, there are several strings left, so I can be wrong…” , so no spoilers until the end. And Monthy Python humour! HA!

Little clues and info come in drops in this book, which is super cool ,and adds to the atmosphere of being a private investigator due to the total mystery and suspense. As we read, we start to get ourselves closer and closer to the point of view of Sara, and we start to feel ourselves in her skin in the sense of not knowing and wanting to know more as time ticks by. This is great!

One has to say it: there is high creativity when it comes to describing people from Sue Denver, the author, and she always find a way to come up with clever, laughter-inducing notes and replies from and about characters like:

“The man had a tanned mostly-bald dome accented by two sides of close-cropped gray hair. His tie was knotted so high up it had to be choking him. He was just under six feet tall and slim enough to be running on a treadmill everyday. His smile was as real as a salesman’s.”

The dynamics between the characters, are unique, you can see that Sara has a way to talk to Mason, Connor and each character differently. It is as if different sides of her are activated, something that allows us to know more about the main character and know her motivations better.

One of the most interesting characters, however, is not the MC, but Judy, the “do-it-all, 56 year old flirting drill sergeant/accountant/requisition manager”, that at times does some investigative missions as well while gambling, lol! She is the burst of energy in the book, and the addition is very well thought out, because the other characters have a smoother behaviour pattern to which Judy contrasts very well.

Will you get werewolf action in this part of the series? Oh, yes you bet! And the details, the details!!!! You can feel the novel come alive, with a bigger spark when it comes to werewolfy things and scenes, as if the author had been waiting a long time to write these scenes, and yes, yes, they are worth the wait, so enjoy the rest of the book.

I do understand that the author wants to cement the series, and is using this book , 192 Days Missing, to confirm her plans to set a stepping stone and bringing in new characters and making us readers more comfortable with them, seeing them as main characters and trying to develop them without any pressure, like a test-drive, and this approach worked very well. You can feel that the novel may, or may not have more characters but it will have more characters most likely, so there is that.

There is something super cool about this book and series narrative. The rich people are the bad guys, which, although this is a a mystery-paranormal book, it feels even more real than other normal fictional books that idolize billionaires and rich people! Sue Denver actually tells you how vile billionaires are, how snobbish, cold and brutal they are and those that work for them, and how many crimes they commit and how none of them are condemned. This book makes your skin crawl in anger in this aspect, but it gives you a very real and actually plausible image from what happens in real life.

I also loved the fact that Sue Denver didn’t sugar coat the woman trafficking schemes, what happened to the women, their suffering, how tortured they were, and that makes actually care about it and feel bad for not doing more for that, and to know that most times people with power and loads of money are behind if, just adds in the fire that builds inside of you to do something against very rich people, because, let’s face it, they are awful people most of the time, billionaires.

So, if you are like me, and want to read billionaires getting justice for their crimes, with a badass, stubborn women-werewolf, and a team that make her life a living semi-hell (because she is a loner), and throw tantrums when they almost get fired because they love to get shot and almost die in explosions, then grab this beauty of a book. The ending is really cool, seriously, this book only grows better. So grab it, and read it and the rest of the series. Awesome stuff here.

Pros:
Smooth narrative
Amazing descriptions
Great characters and character development
The introduction to new characters is smooth and the integration of them into the series is smooth and paced
Very descriptive and believable action scenes
Believable plot
Compelling and emotionally engaging story with a strong message
Billionaires die
Sara’s dog is dramatic
Cons:
– The bullet wound to the chest when Sara was a wolf. The bullet passed or did it stay? It made me think if inner objects are affected by magic or supernatural powers or not.

Favourite Character: Judy
Lesson of the book: Billionaires are evil, and we can make a difference against them.
Cover Score: 8.0/10

Book Score: 8.4/10

"192 Days Missing," the second book in the Sara Flores, Werewolf P.I. series by Sue Denver, is a thrilling and suspenseful tale that plunges readers into a high-stakes investigation filled with danger and intrigue. Alaska Brown's disappearance from a casino parking lot raises alarming questions, but the authorities seem uninterested in pursuing the case. Enter Sara Flores, a private investigator with a unique advantage—her werewolf abilities.

Denver weaves a compelling narrative as Sara uses her heightened senses to track down missing persons. However, this particular investigation proves to be her greatest challenge yet. The trail is cold, the list of suspects is extensive, and the enemies seem to multiply. Sara's instincts tell her that something truly evil is at play, with a wealthy and arrogant man believing his status exempts him from the consequences of his actions.

The author masterfully builds suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as they follow Sara and her team of misfits through the twists and turns of the investigation. The stakes are high, and the danger is palpable. Denver explores themes of power, corruption, and the lengths one person will go to seek justice in the face of overwhelming odds.

Sara's character is skillfully developed, showcasing her strength, resourcefulness, and unwavering determination. She is surrounded by a cast of intriguing and diverse supporting characters who add depth and complexity to the story. As the suspense builds, readers are drawn into Sara's world, rooting for her success while fearing for her safety.

"192 Days Missing" presents a compelling blend of supernatural elements and crime-solving, providing a unique twist to the traditional private investigator narrative. Sue Denver's writing style is engaging and fast-paced, driving the story forward with each suspenseful chapter.

This gripping installment of the Sara Flores, Werewolf P.I. series promises a thrilling ride filled with unexpected twists and turns. Readers who enjoy mysteries, urban fantasy, and strong female protagonists will find themselves captivated by Sara's relentless pursuit of truth and justice. "192 Days Missing" is a thrilling page-turner that will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in this exciting series.

Alaska Brown left work in a casino one day and vanished. The last sighting of her was in the casino parking lot. The police say she has left willingly, citing a phone call from Mexico, saying she decided to up and leave with a never-before-seen boyfriend. Private investigator Sara Flores gets given the case as a stone-cold case. Sara is new to the role of a PI. However, since starting the job, soon after becoming a werewolf, she has had good success in finding missing people. This case is very cold, with a lot of suspects. Needless to say, the casino means suspects with a LOT of money to cover things up.

Sara has a genius partner in Mason, he knows her secret, and he can track nearly anything online. She is begrudgingly getting help from Connor and Judy, brawn and brains/fixer extraordinaire/walking flirt. The case that Sara starts to uncover begins to go deeper than a missing person, and more sordid and evil than she imagined. It becomes clear that in order to save Alaska, and a lot of other women, Sara will have to embrace the wolf inside her.

This is book two in this series, and I absolutely couldn’t wait to read book one, and hopefully, as the ending of this one implied, can’t wait to read book three! I loved Sara’s character. It is refreshing to see a supernatural creature having to learn martial arts to still defend themselves. Sara is struggling to cope with her new life. She can manage to work with Mason as he is far out of the action, but learning to work with others, and be responsible for them, as well as putting her own life in danger is too much for her at times. The conflict in coming to terms with who she is, as well as what she can do makes her really interesting to read. The story is funny (some of the character descriptions will have you laughing out loud, and Judy is a hoot!), serious (it does not pull the punches on human trafficking), gorey (Sara is a werewolf and we get to see what happens when she wolfs out), entertaining, and ended much too fast for my liking!

I devoured this book, and now think I have a favourite PI. Sara has knocked PI Kinsel Millhone (of Sue Grafton fame) out of my top spot. Although I do think the two of them would get on like a house on fire, and have great fun knocking some heads together!

*I received this book from NetGalley for review, but all opinions are my own.

192 Days Missing by Sue Denver
Sara Flores Werewolf P.I. Novel #1

Having read the Sara Flores short story collection previously, I was eager to read this first book and see what Sara would be getting up to. So glad I to have spent time with Sara and her team today!

What I liked:
* Sara Flores: private investigator, tracker, great scent skills, seeks missing or threatened innocents, turned into a werewolf by Joe White Wolf, doesn’t always play by the rules, intriguing, someone I would like to have as a friend
* Mason Spencer: Sara’s partner, saved by Sara, tech genius, 23 years old, like a brother to Sara, Lupiti – Native American, brilliant, hope to hear more about him
* Connor Rockwood: bodyguard, ex-special forces military, strong, lethal, team player, on the side of right, in a relationship with Lillian – a woman he was bodyguard to while working with/for Sara
* Judy Street: brilliant, strategic thinker, sees the big picture, problem solver, logistics oriented, makes things happen, wise, enjoys the thrill of working with Sara and the team, eventually joins the team
* Last Chance Investigations: name that eventually is given to the P.I. business
* The anonymous donors that allow the business to do the work necessary to save lives
* The way the team works together and how caring, close, and protective they are of one another
* The way the investigation into what happened to Alaska Brown, their client, progressed and where it ultimately concluded
* The very satisfying ending with most of the loose ends tied up and a new case coming in

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Knowing that there are human traffickers, people who work with and for them, and clients willing to buy humans for their own evil reasons
* Having to wait for the next book in the series

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Books Go Social for the ARC – This is my honest review.

192 Days Missing by Sue Denver is the second book in her exciting paranormal detective series featuring werewolf Sara Flores.

Sara Flores is a new-ish PI and a fairly new werewolf. She's still trying to get the hang of both. Sara is good at finding missing people, and her second case will challenge her and her team. It's a cold case. Alaska Brown has been missing for six months, and law enforcement thinks she left willingly, so they aren't looking for her. But Alaska's family knows she would never leave her kids and asks Sara to find her. What Sara uncovers involves dangerous evil and a billionaire who thinks his money excuses it.

I enjoyed the first book in this series and was excited to read this one, and Denver did not disappoint! Fast-paced, with a sense of danger and urgency, this was suspenseful and hard to put down. The mystery is well-plotted and tight, but we also see the team gel a bit more and are introduced to a fabulous new character in Judy. Judy is a middle-aged and quirky badass in her own formidable way, and I loved seeing that representation here, particularly in action-packed crime fiction!

I love paranormal and shifter books and how Denver uses Sara's werewolf abilities in this story. Sara may have a physical edge against the bad guys. However, Denver still has her relying primarily on her wits and the individual talents of her team members, as being a werewolf is a secret, even from most of her team. Gritty and, at times, dark and violent, Denver does not shy away from some of the more horrific aspects of the story, which had me all in for Sara going full werewolf at times! But Denver also balances this out with some humor, and there are several laugh-out-loud moments throughout. A page-turner and one I stayed up way past bedtime to finish!

Thank you to Sue Denver and Booksprout for the opportunity to review this ARC. I enjoyed it!

Every now and then you find an author and just think "Wow!".

Sara, a lone werewolf, against her better judgement, is slowly building up her team. There's Mason tech genius, Judy the fixer and Connor the muscle. It needed all of them to solve this case.

Sara and Mason are hired to find Alaska, a woman missing for 192 days. Their poking around opened a dangerous can of worms.

This is the second book by Sue that I've read and it was just awesome. I read it in one go as I just couldn't put it down. The building of the new team and the horrendous case they uncovered was breathtaking. The story was instantly gripping, fast paced, full of intrigue and plot twists. This is definitely an author you do not want to miss.

Best of the series, so far

Human trafficking—not a subject to take lightly, and Sara Flores doesn’t. She’s hired by a couple to find their missing daughter, and the search leads her to a web of lies, deceit, and evil. With the help of her partner, Mason, in good deeds (and maybe a little crime); a previously saved woman who excels in logistics; and a bodyguard/ex-special forces operative who overpowers a room with just his attitude and size, she embarks on a trail of sleazy billionaires, cutthroat flunkies, and a high-society woman who was willing to look the other way. You’re always in for a wild ride with Sara.

The book could have used a last run-through by a good editor, but the errors weren’t so bad as to completely jerk me out of the story. I would recommend this book (and series) to anyone who likes shifter stories with a strong female protagonist.

I really enjoyed listening to this fascinating werewolf action/adventure story! It was an intense mystery that i couldn’t turn off as I anticipated what was going to happen next. This was a good read. I am not much for the werewolf/vampire books, but this is not overdramatic. The plot lines are well developed and kept me up past my bed time.

It is consistent and well research so the setting is realistic. The technology is a bit of over-reach, but it is almost believable. The character development is well done and the characters are believable.

Darn!! I wish this character was real and could go after so many rich bungheads around the world. She is a fierce woman and the group of people who are helping her are stellar. The Narrator does a good job with the various characters and the Entire Storyline.

This is a Supernatural Suspense Mystery, and this is the second book in the Sara Flores, Werewolf P.I. series. I have not read the first book in this series before picking this book up, but I do not think that hurt my reading of this book. I did not know this book was a Supernatural book or a part of a series before picking up this book. I normally do not read Supernatural books, but the supernatural parts of this book did not bother me. This book was not heavy with the supernatural parts, and I feel they were well done. The writing style of this book was not my favorite, and I felt that at times the book was dry and just listed what was going on instand of letting the characters personalities come through. I wanted more character development, but the mystery was really good. I could not stop reading this book because I had to know what was going on. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
