Space Guys is a 32 page easy reader book about a young boy who is trying to sleep, but cannot due to a “beeping” noise. When the boy investigates where the sound is coming from, he notices a spaceship in the sky! He invites the aliens inside and asks his parents to come see, but they tell him to go back to bed. At first, the boy is excited and wants to play with the aliens. However, the aliens cause a ruckus in his house! They play with his toys, make loud noise, eat the soap in the bathroom, and watch loud TV. The next morning, the boy’s parents yell at the boy for making a mess. He tells them the space guys did it and shows them a picture. His parents are shocked that the aliens were really there! This is an effective book for an emergent reader because of the short words and sentences. I would use this book in the classroom by having a child read it to me. The language is simple and easy to understand. There are also some repetition. Some examples are “Don’t take Kitty! Don’t take me!” and “Beep! Beep! I hear beep, beep!” I like this story because there also rhyme words which helps the young reader. Teachers can zero in on words with the same ending sounds such as “see” and tree” or “bed” and “head” as it appears in the story. Students can reread to match the rhyming words by pointing to them. They can also display the words on a pocket chart or as a cut-and-paste activity. There is also repetition of the “Ch” sound when the boy tries to take a picture of the space guys and says “Cheese!” Teachers can use the “Ch” sound as the focus of a phonics lesson as well.

This book is easy to read, it talk about a warm story about space guys. In a night, a boy waked up because he heard a strange sound. He saw some space guys came to his bedroom through the window. He was very shocked, he came to his parents' bedroom and told them some space guys were in his room, but his parents did not believe him. He came back to his bedroom, and he find these space guys look like very happy in his bedroom. Gradually, he played with them together and became very good friends. He also taught them say"cheese" when they take pictures. This was a really wonderful night. In the next morning, the boy's father and mother came to his bedroom, they also very amazed because there are in a mess. The boy said about space guys to his parents again, and he showed some pictures to his parents. Then, when these space guys came again, they can speak "cheese" , This is a very happy ending.
In this book, the color are very wonderful and vivid. It very suitable for children. The story also meet the child's imagination about space guys. In the story they are kindness and funny. We can let children feel happy and let them see the world is great from the plot of the book. The font in the book is so cute. I think this is a good science fiction it can make children interest in the exploration of the universe and use friendly attitude to treat space guys.

This is a simple rhyming book good for independent reading in K-1st grade. The story is about a boy who sees aliens land outside his bedroom window. The boy takes the aliens to different parts of the home where the aliens cause lots of ruckus. When the parents ask him what he's doing, he tells them its the aliens, but the parents don't believe them. This could used as a text-to-self connection book about a time the students may have felt misunderstood.

This book, meant for ages 5 and up, tells the story of a boy who is visited by robots and aliens who arrive by a flying saucer. The rhyming book details how the parents don’t believe him and how he takes the creatures around with him to each room and has fun adventures. This is a fantasy book because the boy is interacting with something that does not exist in real life. The rhyming of the book could be used to teach phonics, rhyming, phonemes, and other parts of language.

Aliens land and only a little boy notices. They make quite a mess and when they leave, the boy is left to explain what happened to his parents. AR 1.3 or 0.7 depending on where you look. Holiday House Reader Level 1.

Cute little story for Level 1 (beginning readers). Space guys come and visit a little boy at night. A little bit of laughter, but helps if you embellish and explain just a little for your young 'uns.

A fine choice to bulk up a library's science-fiction category. This is a book that would be best suited for young readers. Although it can be identified as science-fiction, it is so in a very basic sense. This would be a great book to introduce science-fiction books.

I'm going to use "Space Guys" instead of "Aliens" from now on.

This is a rarely enjoyable read at the very early emerging reader level. My son loves it.
