Elizabeth Claywell ran away from her uncle when he arranged a marriage with his sixty-year-old friend. She soon finds herself in the position of governess for Lord Jared Fairfield, who inherited five little girls along with the title. Of all gentlemen she met in London, Lord Fairfield is the only one she has ever desired.
Jared has wanted Elizabeth since he first saw her in London two years ago, but only managed to secure two dances. When he stumbled across her on the street he offered the position of governess to get her into his home. Now he intends to get her into his bed.

I liked this short governess/employer romp by Jane Charles. A minor character, Monique, was the highlight for me. She was spunky and outspoken. Loved her. Lord Jared was really smitten with his governess and there were decent lemons. I found myself wanting to read the rest of the story, more of the back story and what happened after the "I love you."
I was however distracted by the use of the word 'nibble' when it was supposed to be 'nipple' and a few other cases of a similar nature. In one case the protagonist laid her own head on her own shoulder instead of 'his' shoulder. It is certainly easy for this to happen when paragraphs are being rewritten as it has happened to me in my own writing. They are often difficult to spot when we do our own perfunctory proofreading.
Just a quick and steamy short story. I like the idea of the story but there is very little buildup because there is no background given leaving it all to be explained at the end. Lots of misspellings which distract me like crazy, but I still enjoyed the characters. Gives me ideas for my own short stories, so for me there is value. This is the first of a three book series.
This is a well-written short story that will keep you engaged until the very end. Get to know both Lord Farifield and Elizabeth while they figure out their future, and expect a little twist at the end.
I saw it mentioned on my timeline and decided to take a look.
Not much to say about this one, apart from it being rather bare-boned and awkward. It could be an interesting 'second-chance romance' story, but there was almost no character or plot development.
This is the best of the series by this author. I was entertained. Pretty good writing. The sex scenes were super hot, but the core of the story is also very solid. I believed they were in love. I particularly like how this ends. It was charming how the hero couldn't tell the heroine how much he loves her when he was near her, since he was so overcome by his lust.
Enjoyable short read about a young woman on the run from an arranged marriage. She has a chance meeting with a man who needs a governess for his 5 nieces. Wow. Only in the storybooks!
I liked Monique, the secondary character, who owns a dress shop in the village. Cute twist at the end of this story. (1/2012)
Sacked was a short delightful read. I enjoyed Lord Jared and his unrequited love for Elizabeth. The most memorable character for me is Monique, the shop owner. She really put Jared in his place. I would reccomend this short to any Historical Romance or Romance fans.
It was a sweet story, but had a major plot flaw. The end rehashes what happened in the beginning but didn't make sense. I think the writer forgot something. Lots of grammatical errors. It needs to be a free story.
